That might be the first thing this season that would truly screw up the chemistry in the locker room. Seriously. No way they pull a stunt like that.
This is being reported by WFAN, WEEI, and the Boston Globe now. Considering the source of this story is Craig Carton, I smell a load of bullshit. We don't need this guy, especially at the expense of a guy who's been here for years, is extremely respected in the locker room, and who just had a bad game. Not happening. I don't care if he goes back to N.E. which ain't gonna happen anyway. Somebody is gonna put in a claim, and he's either going to play for that team or sit the rest of the season.
Carton is a attention whore who just runs his mouth. I wouldn't put any credence to this. But if an AFC East team is lurking, the Jets will sign him just to play keep away.
Carton just disclaimed that he said what is posted & the he also said that the NYJs did not have any official contact with RM :jets:
I heard a radio spot yesterday that advertised Jets/Texans tickets for sale. If the Jets are still selling, then it's possible they'd bring in Moss. Otherwise it makes no sense whatsoever other than to block him from our rivals. It would suck if he's back in NE when we play them again. They gained a good draft pick for loaning him to the Vikes to play against us. That said, I agree with most of you - let him go back to NE rather than screw us up. For us to win the division it'll happen on the ground, not with yet another wideout.
I get why we would look at him... I just don't want this guy. Not for all the picks and cash in the world. No thanks. We got a solid group of guys and once they shrug off that case of dropsies from last week we'll be good to go again. You don't win rings by bringing in prima donna WRs...
I don't think we would cut cotchery for Moss. (we wouldnt have a single receiver under contract for next year) Why not cut Patrick Turner? i believe he is back on the active roster. What it would mean for Cotch would be a demotion to ST for the most part. He would still play, because all Moss is worth these days is running go routes, so when we don't want to run one of those, he would ride pine. I guess this means we put in a claim, or it may be Rex saying "Hey Randy, we aren't going to claim you because we are so far down the list its pointless, we might as well let Minny pay your salary. But hey come here instead of Foxboro, they kicked you to the curb, they don't want you anymore, we do. We will win a superbowl with or without you, might as well get your ring this year with us."
Yep he claimed he said that RM was in NJ & may have met with some people who are connected with the NYJs (players?) but that he had no contact whatsoever with the NYJs FO. Also the NYJs put out a blip that they have had no official meetings with RM :jets:
Yes i meant patrick. Why the hell would we cut our only real OL depth for a WR? but good point, I'll edit it in
Not saying I want him,or that it will actually happen -- but Rex is a coach that could probably bring out the best in Moss.
Patrick Turner is on the PS anyway. I wonder if the Jets have any knowledge as to what might happen with Braylon. Braylon was at the Holmes/Clowney Charity event and people I know went said he was the only Jet not signing autographs or taking pictures, he had a bad overall attitude. That being said there he is no way in hell we pick up Moss, he might ruin Sanchez.
