I'm not sure why Fiedler was shown the door and then we get Ramsey in. Fiedler, on the very few occasions that he suited up did alright (with hindsight). Out of the two I prefer Fiedler. If Ramsey does not win the QB race which ast this moment looks unlikely is he going to be content just to ride the bench , afterall this could be his last chance?
Could it possibly have anything to do with Fiedler having been brought in last year to be an insurance policy on our QB situation in case Chad couldn't play? That policy expired pretty quickly. He had to be cut. He was one of those cap casualties that when released gave us the great breathing room. Besides, he always sucked.
We couldn't have an injury prone QB backing up another injury prone QB. I like Fiedler and think he was very underrated by dolphin fans but he does get hurt alot as does our starter.
Fielder has proven he can win games in the past, even if it was with Ricky Williams carrying the load. But after last seasons injury, we don't need two QBs with injured arms
I'd also add on that we know the ceiling for Fiedler, where as Ramsey still has a bit of potential and is still somewhat of an unkown.
At least you can use the slightly queer term "whip" when you're talking about Pat Ramsey throwing the ball...with Chad you have to use words like: Toss, Flick, Lob, and my personal favorite Thrust. and I never liked Jay Fiedler: Him and Brett Boone are battling for the biggest ears in pro sports
Last seasons injury was unfortunate , but I still stand by that Fiedler would be a better back-up than Ramsey
If not for the injury,we probably woulda kept him as he would have been our starter last year. I would much rather have Feidler. Ramsey sucks and I pray that he ends up the #4.
I was extremely puzzled when we let go of fiedler in favor of ramsey. Fiedler looked good in his little playing time, should've stayed, but it's all in the past now.
Ramsey looked really sharp the past season for the few games he did play. I think he's a product of Washingtons HC (I forget his name) relying on his veterens. I truely think Ramsey could have a lot of potential, and he has a canon or an arm, whih is a huge contrast with Penny. Mangini was bringing him in to see what he can bring to the table, and I like the move. Fiedler, while a good QB, just seems to be unproductive throughout his career lately. He's like the Aaron Brooks of the AFC, only with the brains that Brooks doesn't have. We need someone fresh to the club, and I don't think Jay was our option. Not to mention, the Fins fans hated him when he played for them.
What is there to be puzzled about? Fiedler is also injury prone, we took a chance last year and it didn't work. We have an injury prone starter and we cannot continue to rely on an injury prone backup as well.
