If it's Wentz, then the Rams just traded a king's ransom to draft a guy 74 doesn't believe is worty of even a first round pick.
Tennessee gets: Rams first-round pick (2016), two second-round picks (2016) third-round pick (2016), first-round pick (2017), third-round pick (2017). Rams get: Titans first overall pick (2016), Titans fourth-round pick (2016), Titans sixth-round pick (2016). That's a lot to give up.
After seeing who the Rams picked with their RG3 picks, I don't know that losing draft picks is really a big loss for the Rams.
Shocked, Tennessee robbed LA. You can't give up that many picks, and good picks, for a POTENTIAL franchise QB. I don't watch a lot of college football, but I've read that this is a weak class for skill position players.
Rams had a lot of picks from prior trades and a pretty good roster overall so I think it's a good trade for them. Based on the value chart I'm told it's a fair deal as well.
what's hilarious is the Rams have the worst pass catching options in the league, their wide receivers are all JAGS and Tavon is a good weapon but he's a gadget player. They have a great RB and that's about it. Who is the new QB gonna throw to? Their last QB set NFL efficiency records the last full season he played and he got killed in that offense.
They have to be picking Jared Goff. If they traded the farm for Wentz they just fucked their next 10 years.
They have a team in their division that's been very successful with a strong defense, running game and no name WRs. Said team won a Super Bowl with this formula.
The last time Jeff Fisher went to the Super Bowl it was a small school FCS strong arm athletic QB he drafted in the first round.
There's a team in our division that wins Super Bowls with no name players also. Should we emulate them?
This has nothing to do with "us". I'm making reference to the NFL being a copycat league with a lot of it happening w/in divisions.
cool so if the Rams #1 pick turns out to be the next Russell Wilson then they're in good shape otherwise they probably gonna need some WR. Thanks for your input.
I've liked Wentz for a while, but the train has gained way too much steam for my liking. I loved him as a potential late round 1 pick, then he started to climb into top 5 talks and I got weary. Now a team potentially mortgaging their future to trade up to number 1 for him? That's way too far for what he is as a prospect.
Exactly, if the Rams #1 pick turns out to be a franchise QB, your little input about their WRs is moot, to say the least.
Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Eli Manning, Matt Stafford, Andrew Luck. All these "top 10 QBs" leading losing teams because their rosters aren't giving them enough help. Now they expect to throw in a rookie to lead a team that has no pass catchers and won't be able to take any in the early rounds for 2 years. I'm sure he'll be able to transcend his roster's talent level in a way all the guys I listed haven't been able to 10 years into their careers.
