Trades "Darrelle Revis to SF for 1st (31), 2nd (63), 3rd (95) and conditional 2014 pick I think that the recent Alex Smith trade helped our cause for trading Revis to SF. They have 15 picks after comp picks (according to ESPN) and they have a team without that many holes. CB is a need after watching Flacco light em up in the Super Bowl I think the Alex Smith return will end up coming to us as KC 2nd rounder" Top 8 1.) Luke Joekel, OT, Texas A&M 2.) Dion Jordan, OLB, Oregon 3.) Shariff Floyd, DT, Florida 4.) Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida St 5.) Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama 6.) Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia 7.) Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan 8.) Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia Draft "1st (9): DeMontre Moore, OLB, Texas A&M Moore falls to us due to a rough combine and we get a steal. We get a good pass rusher who is faster than his 40 time says. We get lucky he falls and he is one of my favorite prospects in the draft. He instanly upgrades our pass rush and our overall D" "1st (31): Matt Elam, S, Florida Elam upgrades our pass D which is already very good even with the loss of Revis. He gives us our dynamic safety duo with Landry which we haven't had for a long time. He also fills one of our big needs for little money." "2nd (40): Gio Bernard, RB, UNC Gio is the perfect fit in the new WCO. He can catch, pass block very very well and the man can flat out run. He is very shiffty and is a immediate upgrade over the ""bruiser"" in Greene. Powell and Bernard make for a great duo in the backfield for years to come. I think he gets by the Bengals because Ellington had a good combine and Lattimore said the right things in his press conference." "2nd (63): Robert Woods, WR, USC Woods had a good combine and is a quality WR. We can ease him in this year and then hopefully he will be ready to take over the number 1 WR spot next year when we cut Holmes. But a WR core of Holmes, Hill, Woods and Kerley looks good now and for future QB Bridgewater." "3rd (73): Tyrann Mathieu, CB/ST, LSU Mathieu had a good combine and heard Deion Sanders talk about him. He said that when he talked to him he sounded like a chenged man and was very truthful. I think we give him a shot because he is one of the top CB in this draft and could be an instant starter but I see better in the slot role this year." "3rd (95): Chris Long, OT, Oregon Long comes in as our starting RT due to the rise of a few OT at the combine and Howard moving to OG. He's a great prospect and we get great value at this spot in the draft." "4th (104): Brandon Jenkins, OLB, Florida St Jenkins is an instant starter at the other OLB spot opposite Moore. He is a great player and great pass rusher and the only reason he is still around is because of his injury which made him miss last season but I think he'll be ready to go and start a new era at OLB with Moore" "5th (135): Brian Winters, OL, Kent St Winters is a versatile lineman who can play guard or tackle. He will come in and compete with Long, Howard and Ducasse for one of the starting OL spots and will also be a solid backup." "6th (168): Kyle Juszcyk, FB, Harvard We get our new Tony Richardson and can stop signing crappy FB to fill for a year. He was a TE at Harvard but will move to FB in the pro's. He is a good blocker and due to his TE experience he is a quality pass cather which could help on 3rd downs." "7th (199): Sean Renfree, QB, Duke Renfree can come in and compete for the starting job. Our QB's are just not good and this doesn't solve our QB problem but could be a diamond in the rough." Opening Day Roster QB: Sanchez, McElroy, Renfree RB: Bernard, Powell, McKnight FB: Juszcyk WR: Holmes, Woods, Edwards WR: Kerley, Hill TE: Walker*,Cumberland, Smith RT: Long RG: Howard, Slauson C: Mangold, Schlauderaff LG: Ducasse, Winters LT: Ferguson DE: Wilkerson, Devito DT: Ellis, Harrison DE: Coples, Devito LOLB: Jenkins, McIntyre MLB: Harris, Mauga WLB: Davis, Bellore ROLB: Moore, Sapp CB: Cromartie, Mathieu CB: Wilson, Lankster, Berry FS: Elam, Bush SS: Landry, Allen K: Folk P: Malone ST: Purdam KR: McKnight PR: Mathieu Delanie Walker signed as FA
I was actually thinking something similar with the revis trade And I think you are referring to Kyle long? Chris Is his brother but yes I seen Kyle play in the senior bowl he was great he is an immedate starter I would be the happiest man ever if this was are draft
Love this draft. I like every single pick. Looks like it would fit so many holes for this team. Great job.
I think Kyle Long is a top-40 pick, but if he's gone, swap Jordan Mills in there and you have a great draft. Not sure you could get quite that from san fran, though. Maybe a 1, a 3, and a 4? Best case a 1, 2, and a 4? If you're looking for a Tony Richardson, I say take Braden Wilson at FB. He was absolutely crushing Oregon defenders in the bowl game. My favorite moment was when he decleated two defenders with a single hit. I'd like to find that clip on youtube. Guy is a monster.
I like this draft a lot, actually has a handful of players I was ready to post in mine (Bernard, Mathieu, Long, Jenkins, Renfree). A haul like this would definitely be an excellent start to the rebuilding process for the Jets
this would be the only draft i'd be happy with if we traded revis. you address the defense early where their value is the greatest and then get offensive playmakers in the second. only thing i worry about with matt elam is how small he is. matt elam covering gronk? eh..
If this draft happened...I would cry tears of Joy. Except I think Winters goes higher than you have him slotted Actually I would prefer a number one for next draft and not this one
Everyone always leaves CB Isiah Trufant off the depth chart. This guy was making huge strides prior to his injury. If his knee is healthy, I think he'll be solid for us in nickel/dime with Lankster. Nice draft.
Trufant makes smurf receivers look like the hulk. You can't play defense on a regular basis at 5'8" and 170. There are just so few receivers that you can match up with physically at that size.
Man, that would be a haul. Getting Matt Elam, Jordan Poyer, and a 2014 first rounder is terrific. (I say Poyer because I think Milliner, Trufant, and Rhodes are gone.)
I'd take that in a heartbeat, and just take the cap hit now. We could draft another corner at 31 or 34, or pray that Milliner is still on the board at 9. We still have Cro back there, and with $2.6 million extra in cap room for 2013, we should be able to better absorb the hit from Revis leaving.
I would make that trade in a heartbeat. Then I'd try to turn this year's extra one into a one next year from a bad team in hopes that the Jets would wind up with two top tier draft picks in what projects to be a loaded draft at the top (assuming the Jets are bad this year which would cause their one next year to be near/at the top).
Our first round pick has to be on offense if but for nothing else to signal to the fans that the FO understands our Offense is an abomination.
