With only 15 million as of our hopes are a little to high. Take OJ at Safety and put the 4-5 mill u'd pay out to him else where. Back up TE's are not hard to find + we still need to see how Cumberland pans out man has the size to take the job
Eric Winston just got cut too, offensive tackle of the Texans Some good FAs we can pick up to fill some holes and go with best player available in the draft
Good blocking TE and can catch the ball. Even though he's no Mulligan....lol.....If the price is right could be a diamond in the rough. I say 3 years at $8.5 -9 mill with 4.75 guaranteed might get him here. Sign this beast if possible. Winston was cut due to cap reasons not due to play. Per Rotoworld "Texans informed RT Eric Winston of his release. The shocking move clears $5.5 million in base salary. Winston hasn't missed a start since his 2006 rookie season, and has been a key cog in the Texans' highly productive zone-blocking scheme. Despite the release, Winston won't have trouble exceeding what the Texans were going to pay him on an incredibly thin offensive tackle market. Only 28 years old, Winston should appeal to other zone-blocking clubs like the Redskins. Pro Football Focus graded Winston as a top-six right tackle last season. He was 11th overall in PFF's rankings."
Reminds me of Doug Jolley except we don't have to give up the first round pick . Still one of the great Bradway trades.
I can't say that having a second TE is more important than signing a safety, pass rusher, or offensive tackle, but I do know that we need a second TE and that Boss is a legit option.
Cumberland is supposed to be good, the coaches love him. Boss would be too much of a luxury the Jets need to fill holes first.
