I heard he was very broken over Norm McDonald's death. I never watched any of Saget's stand-up but I know it was ridiculously tasteless and randy without resorting to cursing all that much.

Being genuinely funny without always resorting the f-bombs is actually pretty hard to pull off. My guess is a heart attack because what else is it going to be. RIP.

Am I the only one expecting it to be worse than David Carradine?

Cause of death was head trauma. Possibly slipped and fell in the shower but he definitely hit his head, didn't think anything of it, went to bed and never woke up. No drugs or alcohol in his system. Damn.

Same thing happened to Liam Neeson's wife a few years back. She hit her head when she fell taking a skiing lesson and complained of a severe headache a few hours later. They said she died of a epidural hematoma which is when bleeding occurs between the tough outer membrane covering the brain and the skull. If untreated then death usually happens. No I am not a doctor I just looked it up :)

Just heard the report on the autopsy. Seems like quite a hit to the head to think nothing of and go to sleep. I guess it happens, but his skull was fractured etc.

I worked for a doctor for 13 years. You know that saying I can die getting out of bed and hitting my head? We had a patient whose husband slipped getting out of bed and hit his head on the floor. He said, ah, I'm good, went to the bathroom, went back to sleep. Subdural hematoma. Good night, Maria.

I just read an article that he even had a fractured orbital bone. I know from brains having been in a coma that I should never have come out of.

Not exactly what happened in my case but hitting the back of your head with great force can cause concomitant fractures (think of a pebble hitting a windshield and the splintering effect).

I also read that Bob Saget tested postive for COVID-19 at autopsy. So somebody straighten me out on this, is this going to be listed as a COVID death? : /

If he had gone to the hospital would he have survived, do you think?

He probably didn't think that he needed to. TBI is a very odd animal. Most times what happens is you get extremely sleepy which is why if you suspect something like that you try to keep the person awake. Probably 60/40 survival all depending. It has anywhere from immediate intervention to a few hours based on severity.

The Dr. I worked for was a Board Certified Foot Surgeon who specialized in Diabetes and Diabetic Wound Care, but I've seen and heard it all. I was 7 mos on the job when death came knocking at my door.

    .

I have a great Neurologist now. It took years to finally land someone who knows what they're doing and thinks outside the box.

Wouldn't a broken orbital be extremely painful? Like painful enough where you'd go straight to a hospital? Damn.

I did not expect this cause of death to be head trauma.

Ah, it was Learn To Swim who started that thread, the Giants fan kid. I don't know why I thought it was the The Uniform Bomber initially. The Uniform Bomber was the guy who posted how much he hated the 1-877-KARS4KIDS commercial.

Haha, he was 5180 then 1290 and then coorslights cans. He probably had other user names and then gave up. Remember the gay pirate thing? The days of wine and roses.

We did have to put up with quite a few idiots back then but they did serve a purpose as virtual punching bags to entertain us.

Many of 1290/5180's threads are lost in the crash but here is one that discusses some of his tendencies. I think Bob Saget would approve of this shift in his thread.

Experts are weighing in with their opinions of Saget's cause of death.

    This one caught my eye:

"The Daily Mail cited one report in which a doctor said the injuries in the autopsy appeared consistent with a blow to the skull with a baseball bat or falling 20 to 30 feet." [emphasis added]

Of course, it's just an opinion.

This story has all the ingredients for a 20/20 special report.

I'm wondering if there are any conspiracy theories among the cognoscenti here.

Bob Saget's autopsy report reveals multiple head fractures usually seen in 'high force injuries'
Some health experts questioning the cause of Saget’s blow to head

Questions surrounding Bob Saget’s cause of death increased after the late comedian's autopsy report revealed Saget suffered injuries to his head that are usually seen from a more traumatic blow than one typically sustains from a slip and fall, according to multiple media reports.

As reported by Fox News last week, Saget’s family released a statement that said the 65-year-old comedian’s sudden death was caused by a brain bleed that occurred after Saget hit his head and went to sleep, not realizing the severity of his injury. The actor was found dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando on January 9th after performing a comedy show in Orlando, Florida, according to the Fox News report.

Health experts weighed in on the autopsy report questioning the investigation and cause of the blow to the comedian’s head that led to his death, according to an article in the Daily Mail.

The outlet posted the autopsy report, which said Saget suffered multiple fractures stretching from the back to the front of the skull and along the eye sockets. It also revealed there was bleeding across both sides of his brain. The Daily Mail cited one report in which a doctor said the injuries in the autopsy appeared consistent with a blow to the skull with a baseball bat or falling 20 to 30 feet.

Fox News spoke with Dr. Fred Davis, an Associate Chair of Emergency Medicine at Northwell Health in New York, about the recent questions surrounding the severity of Saget’s injuries.

Davis, an emergency department physician and Assistant Professor at Hofstra University, on Long Island, N.Y., was not involved in Saget’s case, but told Fox News on Sunday, "The extent of injuries as reported by the autopsy is usually seen in significant traumatic events. It involved breaks in the bones of the skull in multiple areas which tends to happen with high force injuries."

The growing belief that Saget’s injuries are from something more than a fall had experts weighing in on various media outlets. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office, which headed the investigation into Saget’s death, took to social media to address the concerns.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office posted on its Twitter account a link to a media interview with Sheriff John Mina, of the Orange County Sheriff’s office, who was part of the investigation and discussed Saget’s injuries.

In the interview, Mina said that although the injuries were severe, there were no signs of struggle and said, "We do not believe he was struck by anything." Mina also said that Saget’s injuries were likely from a fall where he hit the back of his head on a flat surface, such as a bathroom floor. The autopsy report also revealed that the comedian tested positive for COVID, though the officer and the autopsy report did not say COVID played a role in the comedian’s death.

Forensic scientists told Fox News that investigations such as Saget’s are complex and involve a collaborative effort between the medical examiner, law enforcement investigators, forensic investigators including crime scene and crime lab officials, and the district attorney. They told Fox that investigative hypotheses are typically formed while the influx of substantiated evidence will prove or disprove the hypotheses.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's office, Saget’s death was ruled as accidental death, there were no signs of alcohol or drugs, and the case is closed.
