I am wondering if the posters of the gang green can help me out.

I'm looking for quotes from fairly well known and respected football players, coaches and analysts about Joe Namath. Not Joe Namath quotes but what other people have said about Joe.I know that there are some great Quotes from the likes of John Madden and that Berman guy from ESPN,if anyone can provide those quotes or any other quotes then it would be much appreciated.

"...’68 championship game. I was at that game. I was 13, so it was just perfect. We were rebels, you know, children of the ’60s, so the AFL was our generation in a microcosm. I decided I would wear white shoes, hopefully date the pretty girls and maybe have a knee injury because Joe Namath was my guy, like for many of us..."

    -Chris Berman

Not the greatest quote in the world, but the only thing I could find. Hope that helps.

I found this in the other Joe Namath Thread:

"i was coaching the raiders at the time and we were bitter rivals with the jets.we were involved in a back and forth offensive assault with the jets and joe was magnificent. the jets won a hardfought battle.in my years as a coach i never knocked at an opposing teams' locker room door after a game. the only time i did that in my carreer was afterr that game.

i asked to see joe willie ------ i told him "joe, you're the greatest!"

    -John Madden

    Found this one.

"Who is Joe Namath? This is a guy who, if he played in the league today, I'd probably just go hit him late and see what he did, just for the hell of it. Joe Namath can go to hell; he can kiss my ass." Greg Lloyd, after NBC commentator Joe Namath accused Lloyd of playing dirty (1991).

That is funny. Speaking of Greg Lloyd what a cracked up SOB he is; he put a gun in his sons mouth because he got bad grades. Total nut job off the field as he was on it....

"Only Sonny Jurgensen and Joe Namath have been able to get rid of the ball as quickly as Marino." -Don Shula

"The greatest athlete I ever coached." -Paul (Bear) Bryant

"This kid can beat them." -Vince Lombardi the day before Super Bowl III

"I like sex as much as Joe Namath does. I just have it with one woman." -Roger Staubach

"I had seen Namath come into a dining room at training camp, check out the tables and sit down at a table composed entirely of black players. Most teams, no matter how close they are, break down into some loose kind of black-white arrangement at mealtimes. A couple of black players come in together and find a table. Then a couple more join them. Before long, it becomes an all-black table, and the one next to it becomes predominantly white. To a casual observer, it would give the appearance of a segregated dining room. But I have seen Namath plunk his tray down at one of those all-black tables, and then a few white players join him and soon it becomes a mixed table. I've seen this happen too many times to assume it's accidental. The same thing on buses. I've seen Namath integrate a little knot of black players by his presence." -Paul Zimmerman

Sure Don Shula said after SB3 that we tried to beat JWN with the blitz which worked so well for the Colts in the NFL but JWN beat us each & every time with his quick release. I realize you are in the UK but ESPN has a hi lite tape of that game which includes many quotes from Baltimore players & coach about JWN
