Cowboys | Carter says marijuana had a role in his 2004 release Tue, 4 Apr 2006 17:42:01 -0700 Jean-Jacques Taylor, of the Dallas Morning News, reports former Dallas Cowboys QB Quincy Carter said that marijuana use played a role in his abrupt release from the team before the 2004 season. As noted earlier, Carter signed with the Montreal Allouettes of the CFL Tuesday, April 4. "I made a mistake in the past. That mistake was for marijuana. I'm excited about getting a fresh start with Montreal and I want to put the things in the past behind me," Carter said. "When you walk around and people think you're on cocaine or bipolar, it hurts. None of that was the case." Carter said he will spend the rest of the CFL's offseason in Canada preparing for the upcoming season, which begins at the end of May.
He's a crackhead!!!! He wasn't even around the team in the playoff's that year(2004). Coaches didn't even know where he was. Major drug problem. Just disappeared and left the Jets with Bollinger as the second string against the Steelers. So i have heard.
 :rofl2: I love your title! that's what got me to read this thread. Carter wasn't very good...he threw to many INT's. I guess he'd be an ok backup for a game or two if you needed him...
Your right... he went 2-1 as a starter and made our wild card bid possible If he wasn't on our team, our QB for 3 games would have been Bollinger... we all know that would have panned out
Say what, Quincy? He may be being truthful about the pot to an extent as to the recent turn of events, but I highly doubt he's being truthful about the bi-polar issue and where it ties in - at least publicly. The latter is more of a "career killer", probably generated as a smokescreen by his agent. He'd be seen as more of a risk with a mental illness than a hophead. There's more to that story, of that you can be sure. I sincerely wish him well.
The Jets won those 2 games 10-3 and 13-3.. so the defense won those games..not Quincy Carter. Bollinger did appear in one of those games..going 5-9.. and leading the Jets to one of the TDs
I think he will dominate in the CFL, so will Eric Crouch who recently signed with the Toronto Argonauts...
Riggght. He had to be excused from the team mid-season "to see his sick grandmother" because he was trying to kick weed. Uh-huh... -X-
I think he was hanging out with Ricky Williams in the mountains somewhere. Isn't pot free in Canada as long as you have an illness like a sore throwing arm or something? I also heard in the CFL, in order to pass the drug test you have to have certain levels of THC in your blood. Is this true?
ctually, no, he stunk. Still, I'm glad to see that he is doing OK now. I've never been a fan of his, even in his UG days, but I never wish ill on anyone.
