Very interesting OLB propect. Could be had with our late 2nd rounder, and probably our 3rd too. Sort of reminds me of a more versatile, but less powerful Manny Lawson from last year.

Quincy Black -- Outside Linebacker | Senior | New Mexico
    Height: 6-1 & 5/8 | Weight: 240 | 40-Time: 4.50

    Official Bio

    Strengths:
An outstanding athlete...Has great timed speed...Is fluid and does a tremendous job in coverage...Has good range and a burst to close in pursuit...Has very good instincts and seems to always be around the ball...Has a great motor...Ball skills are above average...Great blitzer...Smart with solid intangibles...Still has upside.

    Weaknesses:
Needs to get stronger...Is not overly tough or physical...Has some trouble getting off blocks...Does not play as fast as he ran in workouts...Needs to do a better job versus the run...Footwork and technique are sub par...A bit of an underachiever?

    Notes:
Attended Harper College near Chicago (IL) before coming to the Lobos...Has all the physical tools you look for and he was a true workout warrior at the Scouting Combine...Has a 40+-inch vertical leap...A very intriguing developmental guy who may get pushed up draft boards in such a weak year for the linebacker position.

    2006 Stats: 2006 13 GP 114 TKL 1.0 TFL 0.0 SACK 4 PBU 3 INT

0 sacks is kind of disconcerting though.

His weakness's are concerning me. what I look for in a LB: Tough, Strong, Good at getting off blocks, team captain, plays faster than he runs in workouts.

he just negated all those lol.

How can they say he is a GREAT BLITZER when he has 0 sacks? if you were so great i think u would get a sack at least once...

Even ignoring this...6'1 240 is just too small for an OLB in the 3-4.

Theres so many legit 3-4 OLBs in this draft, why do "sleeper" guys keep popping up?

Brian Robinson's about the only new guy I've heard of that sounds like anything too.

We can't draft a potential pass rushing OLB that couldn't even produce a single sack in a whole season.

I'd be willing to take a chance on him in the 5th round though, if he makes it there, which I doubt.
