Yeah, there is more to it.

How is Ratliff and Clemens release of the ball? Arm strength? What im getting at is either of these guys in any position to even fractionally replicate what Brett is doing this year.

And if not. Who should the Jets look to?

Sign Cassell when he hits free agency...now that would stir up this rivalry some more.

That is really the thing that makes Favre great, its not his arm strength or his iron man ability, its his ability to get the ball out really fast because he can throw accurately (most of the time) without proper mechanics. His quick realease combined with his spread the ball around nature (something he developed after he lost his go to guy Sterling Sharpe) makes for a deadly combo when he is on. I remember last year against the vikings, Favre hit Greg Jennings on that slant for 421 just before an unblocked LBacker nails him. The ball just flew out of his hands, and that lbacker was coming fast, so fast that Favre didn't even see the completion, he just knew he had nailed the throw. You really notice these small things when you lose your QB. Rodgers is plenty athletic and has arm strength and knows the offense and everything, but he just doesn't have it (yet). Favre had "it", what ever "it" is, it makes him a winner and a darn good QB. You guys really are lucky, don't take it for granted.

on another note, we noticed Favre had something special early on. When he came in for the Majik man, he looked lost out there, but something clicked. Without really knowning what he is doing (He holds on to the ball too long, he fumbles the ball, he is little confused as to the play call sometimes) Favre leads 2 TD drives in the final 8 minutes for the comback win, it was something special.

Cassell would not be nearly as successful as Favre's been with this offense. Not even close.

Id hate to be the one to say it, but whenever Favre decides to call it quits for good, this offense the Jets have seems like it would cater perfectly to Clemens abilities, and could do his some good in his growth. He could very well be the next guy behind center chucking quick passes to Cotch, Keller, and whoever the Jets have in hopefully 2 or 3 years.
