So my friend and I are heading up to Buffalo for the game in a couple weeks. Anything we should look out for? I hear they get pretty rough up there towards Jets fans especially. Anybody have any experiences to share (good and bad). Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, it's borderline NFL forum material I think.

Hopefully nothing race related cause I won't exactly fit in with the Blue Collar Buffalonians.

when you get to Buffalo..ask them what they think of their franchise moving to Toronto in a few years. That should spark plenty of "hugs & kisses".

    Obviously, that's assumed.

start out by singing: "shuffle off from buffalo". ask them if they will follow the team to its new city after wilson leaves.

bring a rotweiler and an uzi with you. you'll need to use them.

you know what...just show up in a Toronto Argonaut jersey and say nothing....the jersey is all the communication you'll need.

oh...and maybe bring a crucifix with you....i have a feeling you'll need Jesus in your corner for this one. Good luck and gods' speed...say hi to Jimmy Hoffa for me.

3 years ago my wife and i went to a bills game.

1- bills fans walking across the parking lot were scared to death of a large group of young, drunk jet fans. a very large black dude pushing a cart picking up bottles became a victim. his bills hat ended up 'on the barbie'.

2- a piece of shit eskimo trash dumped beer on my wife. big mistake. all 100 pounds of my wife climbed over the seat and beat the bitch sensless (while wearing her ny giants parka to boot). must have been the family section because the whole area went totally silent for about 5 minutes. a few other bills fans helped the bloodied fat moose sucking biatch out of her seat to go get med help. she never returned.

I have gone through a lot of shit in the last few seasons.....and I don't act up or look for it either.

I sat in the end zone the first year and had ppl throwing stuff at me from behind........last year while tailgating I was in line for the washroom and some guy tossed a football which hit me....it was an underhand from like 5 feet away but I stuff had half a mind to pick it up and took it as far as I could the other way.

The year that the Jets won 28-20, which was 2006, nobody really did anything. This year I am witting way up in the stands on the Bills side, like row 26 of section 310.....and I am contemplating not wearing much Jets stuff, especially cuz the Favre jersey I bought is authentic and the last thing I want is for some asshole to ruin it.

Don't kid yourself, the fans there are lowlife trash, and it's pathetic that they don't have enough positives in their lives to prevent the Bills from being the barometer of happiness in their lives.

Ive gone every year since 2000 and I have never got into a fight or had anything thrown at me. When I was in a group of jets fans noone even talked any shit to us, if you are a lone Jets fan they will taunt you, depending on the size of the person taunting you you may want to stand up for yourself because most of them are pussys anyway and as soon as you show them that you arent going to take shit they stop.

The one incident I had was when I was watchin the game, lucky in the season ticket holder section where the fans are more civilized, when this girl behind me started rubbing my head (in a taunting way) everytime the Bills did something good. Well let me tell you that is SO damn annoying but she was a girl and what was I to do. About half way through the game the Jets were losing and she kept on rubbing away, I had been drinking more and couldnt take it any more. I wipped around in my seat and came very close to smackin her in the face but I stopped myself, I even extended my arm in a smacking fashion but was able to pull my self back at the last moment. Her brother then stepped in and was like "thats my fuckin sister" but luckily for everyone he ended up being cool and told his sister to stop. Punching a girl would have been the low point of my life I think.

Either way try to get tickets in the season ticket section, if you sit in the upper deck you may have trouble. Overall I have been very lucky the past 8 years.

They are terrible, almost on the level of Philadelphia sport fans. Which is odd considering Sabres fans are nice. So close to Canada, yet none of that Canadian niceness seems to rub off on them.

Sabres fans suck. I don't know what fans you know Allen.

Bills fans suck too. Just bring your left hook and you'll be fine.

I was there for the 1998 game with a girl from Buffalo and I didn't have any problems at all, wore a Keyshawn jersey. Someone here (I think nyjunc) said they were at the same game and people were dicks, so I guess it's a totally random thing.

I went to my first game in buffalo when Flutie was playing for them. I was rooting for the Bills because they were playing the Lphins. I didn't have any Jets gear on or anything either and didn't have any trouble except for the bitch behind me asking me to stop smoking ciggs.

I usually go every year to the Jets game in Buffalo and naturally I've had good and bad experiences.

For the most part they are very passionate football fans and I respect that. Of course theres a fair amount a a-holes present as you can imagine. All I can say is just to mind your own business and if you want to wear Jets gear just dont be stupid about it. You're gonna get some ribbing but laugh it off or crack a joke or something. Nothing pisses me off more than when I go to a game and a-hole Jet fans are making a ruckus in the stands and trying to bring me into it, they are almost worse than the Bills fans - almost.

With that having been said, theres lines to be crossed and should one of those drunken buffalo-heads cross it you have a right to defend yourself, just be careful because 70,000+ fans are going to be on his side even if hes in the wrong.

But have a good time, its a fun place to tailgate and party and hopefully the Jets Win!!

It's always like that, and it has to do with how you handle your alchohol. Some people drink and it completely changes them. I was at the Denver game in 98 (Jan 99). Afterwards, all I heard was how mean the fans were, how Chrebets sister got punched in the face, etc etc. We had ZERO problems. I've been all over the league and have never had a problem. I'll bet anything Chrebets sister was being a dick.

At the risk of offending people ... this is what I have noticed to be generally true (though obviously with exceptions): if you are friendly and polite, the most you will usually get is some good-natured banter. Even if you get worse than that, if you just acknowledge the abuse but respond politely anyway (and don't take the bait) you will still usually be left alone after a while.

But if you are loud and obnoxious yourself, and/or respond to others being loud and obnoxious with some true abuse of your own, then like opposite poles of a magnet, yes you will attract the wrath of the most obnoxious fans of the other team.

I thought this to be case too but it didn't pass muster in Buffalo. I was as polite, friendly, and deferential as humanly possible and still had neanderthals threatening to piss on me (in the bathroom), extinguish their cigarettes on my jersey or person (during a smoke break), and have beer dumped on me (in the seats and on line for beer). I think abuse is literally unavoidable if you choose to wear a Jets jersey up there.
