The Steelers have been beyond putrid on offense so far this year but a dominating defense has them 2-0. They might give the Jets a nice run for top defense this year if they can stay healthy. Our two QB's combined for less than 50 yards passing today. I didn't think that was even possible in today's NFL. Ugggh PS Nice win over the Patsies. Glad you guys brought em back to Earth.
Steelers do it because they have a lot of veteran experience on defense. The biggest holes last year were William Gay at starting CB, Troy Polamalu being hurt all year and Aaron Smith at DE being out most of the year. They also have a defensive coordinator who knows the 3-4 D inside and out. They've made some smart draft choices to keep the linebacker position stocked. If you guys are going to run the 3-4 you might want to take notes.
SC people really underestimate your defense. You're healthy again and easily a top 5 defense imo. I really don't like Pits but you're a good guy so good luck, and cheers to a good matchup later in the season
That Jets matchup in Pittsburgh is going to be awesome! Maybe I should start trying to get tickets now...

Steeler's defense has been very impressive so far. Folks in Atlanta were ready to fire their Offensive Coordinator and deem Matt Ryan a bust after week one.
The guy always comes here to gloat. We never see him in the bad times. The guy is also a Pirates fan, but amazingly he is nowhere to be found in baseball threads.
I have never once came here to "gloat" I distinctly remember after the playoff game where Doug Brien missed 2 FG's that I was on here saying the Steelers had no business winning the game. What does me not posting in the baseball thread have to do with anything. I didn't even realize it was there and what am I going to do...make a post every single day saying the Pirates are the worst damn team in baseball history? That goes without saying. I have also posted here in the past when the Steelers weren't as good. But go ahead and keep thinking I'm some kind of fair weather fan.
That can incense people. I know it would have pissed me off. "Hey man. It's alright. The Jets deserved to win the game." How the heck would something like that make Jets fans feel good? Point is, you don't show here in tough times. You create look-at-the-Steelers threads when they are doing well. You remember that "Here we go Steelers, here we go" thread? Ridiculous crap. This is a Jets board. It is not a Steelers board. Go do the cheerleading routine on a Steelers board. You don't post on baseball because your team sucks. My team sucks and I still post there. Here's an idea- start a "Here we go Pirates, here we go thread" or a "We are Family" thread.
If I had posted this in the Jets section then perhaps I could see your point but I posted this in the National Football League section which pertains to every other team. I started a discussion because the Steelers have gotten to 2-0 despite all the experts predicting their doom. As someone else has mentioned I have over 1700 posts and not everything has been rosy since I created my account in Steeler land. Oh and if you look I did create a Pirates thread just to keep you happy. I guess you want me to keep telling everyone on here how good the Pirates are so you can call me RaiderJoe.... Sorry but I believe 100% in every post I make on here because I believe in credibility.
If you posted here on a somewhat regular basis, I wouldn't have an issue. Through the years, I have found, that you don't show up here very often after Steelers defeats. I seemed to remember a vanishing on your part during the Steelers slide last year. I looked it up. Sure enough, you were nowhere to be found while the Steelers season was going down the drain. You made a post on 11/13 when the Steelers were 6-2. Your next post came on 12/11 when the Steelers were 6-7. At that point their season was essentially over. With the pressure off, it was safe for you to come out of the woodwork again.
Maybe because I was posting more over at the Steelers message board about their slide. What does it matter to you anyways? I've always been respectful over on this site, and I'm sure quite a few TGG members can attest to that. That's probably why even though I post infrequently I still get votes for best Non Jets fan poster every year. Again I posted a discussion about another NFL team in the NFL forum which is the proper place. I've made several mentions of how good your defense is this year, and I will continue to be respectful. If that's not good enough for you, then nothing will be. Grow up....
It matters to me because I don't care to see Steelers cheerleading threads on a Jets message board. If I wanted that, then I'd go to a Steelers board.
they're looking great like they used to on that side of the ball. and they beat two pretty decent opponents as well. I think it comes down to health. Last year injuries hurt them...it was weird seeing them not in the playoffs and losing games the way they did. lotta good teams in the AFC right now. Gonna be real interesting to see how the playoff seeding pans out. That division will be a dogfight again
