I did one of these last year, involving a trade. I'm bored and can't sleep so I'm gonna throw this together.

First off, I think we lose out going 6-10.

    - Free Agent Signings
    Golden Tate (3yr/15 mil)
    Brandon Pettigrew (3yr/12 mil)
    Matt Cassel (2yr/6 mil)

    - Trade
49ers trade up with us in the first to grab Mike Evans or Marqise Lee. We trade firsts and get an additional second and third from SF.

    - Draft

    Round 1: Jarvis Landry (WR/LSU)
    - we desperately need receivers. I see great things from Landry, he has fantastic hands, he racks up YAC. He could be Geno's security blanket.

    Round 2: Cyril Richardson (OG/Baylor)
    - OLine is an issue for us, especially at guard. Cyril is a need and I view him as an NFL ready linemen. He was the reason to Seastrunk's success this year.

    Round 2: Tre Mason (RB/Auburn)
    - maybe a reach here, but I don't see a RB going in round 1so he could possibly fall to us. I like the idea of an Ivory/Mason duo. I think they compliment each other very nicely.

Round 3: Kelvin Benjamin (WR/Florida State)
    - keep taking offensive skill players. Benjamin is a freak of an athlete. He's got the size and I would make him Stephen Hill's replacement. A deep threat with great hands.

    Round 3: AJ McCarron (QB/Alabama)
    - insurance policy. Bring in Cassel and AJ and have both compete with Geno. AJ played great all year. He had many clutch throws and really developed as a passer. His arm strength isn't up to par, but he can work on it.

Round 3: Kurtis Drummond (S/Michigan State)
    - safety help is definitely a need. I think towards the end of round 3 Loston and Boston will be gone, so we go to the next best thing.

    Round 4: Dee Ford (OLB/Auburn)
    - some say OLB is a big need but I think Pace has played well this year. Always good to have some depth. I can see Dee Ford as a starter, the senior has had a good year with 8.5 sacks.

    Round 5: Tevin Reese (WR/Baylor)
    - another receiver. I see Reese as our ST guy. He was having a great year til his injury. I think he has the explosiveness for ST.

    Round 6: Colt Lyerla (TE/Oregon)
    - Colt is a problem child and a risky pick. But with the right coaching and sone discipline he could be great. Was projected as a top 3 TE early on, has all the skills.

    Round 7: Spencer Long (OG/Nebraska)
    - a favorite of my mocks. Long is a great talent, went down due to injury but was having a phenomenal season. OLine depth never hurts.

    Couple of things:

I like the trade idea and Landry.I like Pettigrew and Tate, but I think you are underestimating what they will command on the open markets.

There is 0% chance that Benjamin, if he declared, would last until the 3rd round.

I hate the idea of McCarron in the third. If you are signing Cassel, and have Geno and Simms on the roster, what's the point? Plus, I'm not that high on him as a prospect.

Wow Jarvis Landry round one. As an LSU fan I love it, as an analytic I'm not sure. Certainly think Landry is a guy who can play on the outside due to his physicality, but I wonder about his ability after the catch, good quickness dont know about his long speed. Maybe best hands in the draft.

Nice. I like it almost across the board, except I would use the precious 2nd rounder for another WR, TE, OLB or safety. We don't need another RB if Goodson comes back to play.

nice QDR.....but i need a higher OLB choice. me thinks this defense is a stud OLB and a capable CB away from living up to the RR fantasy defense.

Kuris Drummond is a nice sleeper safety prospect. With a benefit a NFL strength training program, he can bulk up a little bit more to be a bigger force in the run support.
