Our Defense is looking VERY solid. With Ryans coaching mentality, they will be all over the field, knocking players out. The defense to me, is set. We can use the later rounds of the draft to get some depth at various positions.

Now with the offense, Ryans said it is going to be a running team. A run first offense. And a run second offense. Moore coming back is excellent. The OL is set. Personally Jones isnt a favorite of mine. I would like to pick up a power back in the draft, like Greene or Jennings. And with all the running well be doing, I could see this happening.

With a knockout defense, and a running offense.. I feel Clemens or Ratliff our more than capable of leading this team. Theyre going to throw the ball, what, maybe 20-25 times a game? I find it completely unnecessary to pick up another QB through FA or the draft.

    Garcia.. Stay away big guy.

I absolutely agree. Focus on teaching KC and BR how to manage the game, and stick to the running attack.

i agree, clemens or ratliff should be able to lead this team if it is a run first team. as long as we dont have to rely on the to win the game(let the defense do that for us). but if sanchez is there at 17 i cant see how we can pass him up.

Rex says we look good enough at qb...which probably means we would only add a qb if one fell into our lap during the draft
    which is fine by me
with the lack of FA market at wr...i'd like to see a wr either in the 1st or 2nd round

Even if it does come down to needing to win the game. Clemens vs the ravens anyone? He would have won that game. Of course McCariens was on the team though.

Ratliff? Good grief. KC Masterpiece all the way. If he loses the job to Ratliff, I will be worried.

    +1

Someone else posted it earlier today, the writing is on the wall. Rex is trying to build a dominant defense and an offense that revolves around a strong rushing attack ala Baltimore. The QB just needs to be capable of being smart and making throws when asked. We have guys with 1, 2 and 3 years in the same system. It seems like they should be able to do what is asked of them without too much of a problem.

It seems like a good formula, I cannot wait for this season to start.

Not to hijack the thread, but I have a question about WRs. Due to everybody thinking the start of Free Agency is a good time to post about everything and anything, I don't want to open a new thread.

I think, god I hope this doesn't get blasted, we should go after Marvin Harrison. I'm not looking for the Jets to "Stretch the Field" with their current setup. I think that KC or BR need Possession WRs. Harrison would make an excellent security blanket for either of them. I know, he's not as fast, he's not going to break for 80, but he knows how to run routes and he has glue for hands. Just my opinion, but I think he may be the answer as far as WRs in FA go.

He wants too much money though. From my understanding the reason he left Indy was they didn't want to pay him like a true #1. Well he's not a true #1 anymore.

He'd be nice to have for the right price but I'm gonna say let someone else overpay on this one.

I agree financially. I wouldn't pay him anywhere near #1 money. But if, IF, he were willing to take $2mil a year for 2 years, I'd say deal. I think it's fairly obvious the Jets are looking to control the clock and game mangement, he might be the best answer for that.

I think that Harrison at this point may not have a lot more to offer than Coles, who we released. Better hands probably. But that's outweighed by his age and the $$$ he'll want. I'd rather have Harrison than Coles, but there's probably better out there than another #2/#3 receiver when we need a #1.

Eh, not a fan of old football players. Stuckey or Clowney can probably produce the same amount of production that Harrison would.

Personally, I think Harrison is in for a rude awakening with the difference between the value he thinks he has and what teams will actually pay him.

i think we will sign a vet wr...1.5-2 mil a year type guy
someone who can be the potential #2 to cotchery until the rookie we draft or clowney takes the spot away in camp or preseason (hopefully)
candidates? Maybe a DJ Hackett, Drew Bennett, Marty Booker, Furrey, Galloway, Hillard, D. Jackson or a future cut...
Stuckey is going to have to play his way onto the team b/c he hasn't shown to be more than a #4 wr
Clowney is going to be given every opportunity to be the slot wr this offseason
I'd like to see a wr in rd 1 or 2...someone with the ability to contribute right away...aka maclin...and not harvin
