QB pre season comparison after 3 games (15 drives each) Sporano on the hot seat

Saw this interesting graphic. I believe Sanchez has more passing yards and Tebow has more running yards and first downs (also includes a kneel down drive by Tebow).
I think the QB performances have had a lot to do with the type of offense Sparano is running in pre season. I am not quite sure that the jets offense can just "turn it on" when the season starts and this pre season vanilla strategy might back fire.

So versus the scrubs (2s,3s,4s) he is performing the same as Sanchez...

    Conclusion: He still sucks.

I disagree. Sanchez had 0 drives with Keller, and his 3 WR all available but he came in and moved down the field pretty easily. The problems came inside the 30/20.

Think about the Sanchez drives with Howard out there (now no Hunter I hold more weight with this OL out there). Lots of throws down the field and got into FG range easy. The trouble is executing in the RZ but the one prime opportunity they go they missed by a couple inches. Sanchez overthrew Hill. They can overcome the average run game by picking up chunks of yards in the air which they did 3-5 times.

Just preseason, but it just goes to show that completion % isn't the end all and be all statistic everyone likes to point to as the arbiter of NFL QB "success". Tebow showed that last year as well.

Please stop trying to compare Tebow to NFL QB's.

Especially when the comparison doesn't favor the "NFL QB."

The comparison is retarded. Sometimes you just have to use the eye test. Tebow fails the eye test.

Orton looked like a "Real QB" compared to Tebow, too.

Sanchez is clearly better than Tebow right now. That is easy to tell.

The thing is if Tebow can become a a successful starting QB in the future. Right now he still needs to work on some problems that plagued him last year. You can't make a living off of winning close games. You need to play consistently well to become a successfully long tenured QB in the league. Sanchez struggles with this, Tebow even more.

OK - I kinda vented with you in the other thread but I agree with this completely.

Do you guys notice how many times you say this, and virtually no one disagrees? Occasionally someone flames in and trashes Sanchez, but the vast majority of people you're discussing with understand that no one in his right mind would bench Sanchez for Tebow, certainly not at this point in their careers.

The discussion is "Tebow: pile of crap or not?" Promising player, or not? Future QB again, or not?

The thing goes in circles because half the time it's someone saying "I can't believe you guys won't admit that Tebow is a horrible QB who should not be one," and half the time it's "Sanchez is clearly better than Tebow right now."

It feels weird -- because it feels like defending a Jets player to Jets fans. You got a good player who's going to help you win, and who's going to get better.

Do you see the title of this thread? It's QB comparison posted with a graphic that shows Sanchez and Tebow as equal in a strange collection of stats. The post then has nothing to do with a comparison, but you see why people who read the title and then look at the big picture think people are comparing the Sanchez and Tebow?

The graphic and thread title lead anyone who was to skim quickly to believe this. People also scan the Tebowmania and see "
QB pre season comparison after 3 games (15 drives each)" as one of the top thread titles, and oh it looks like people are comparing the two QBs. People are saying it whether or not they actually mean it.

Then there is that thread title "Sanchez vs Tebow." Then the "elephant in room, how long til Tebow is the starter" Not to mention the poster who kept on repeating Sanchez sucks Tebow should start in multiple threads. Forget their name. Someone scanning thread titles here then seeing a poster yelling that in the main forum, yes it comes off as people thinking Tebow should start and is better than Sanchez.

I can give more examples, but you can definitely see why people think that now?

This might be the funniest attempt to prop up this kids miserable preseason of them all. He is horrendous against third stringers. Not just ok, horrendous.

I watched sports center last night, and they not only didn't mention Tebows pathetic pick or miss throws, but the only highlight of the game is him scrambling for a first down against the third stringers. Tim Tebow generates an audience for them, bc the same people who believe that Jesus was real, and or that the Gators have had a storied history, believe he is a starting QB and not the joke backup that he really is.

When all objective forms of measurement fail to support your point of view, then it's best to dredge up and use an extremely subjective form of measurement, eh?

You obviously have a biased hate for the University of Florida and Christians.... Hard to figure why you come on here slamming Tebow all the time.... Hmmmm....

I can understand people not believing Tebow is a good QB or debating whether the Jets should have acquired him or not.... That's the point of these forums and these discussions. You on the other hand, are just full of blind hate due to your bias and you add nothing to the discussion.

Tim Tebow completed 38% of his passes this preseason and all against scrubs. I'm sorry for the Tebow fans who really like the guy but he's not an NFL QB and unless he gets his head out of his ass and makes the mechanical adjustments necessary to become an NFL QB he never will be.

Why he's still throwing full retard is anybody's guess but I think it kind of comes down to either a lack of ability to adjust or the arrogance to think he doesn't have to. Given his other personal characteristics I'm thinking it's probably the former and unfortunately that means Tim Tebow will never be an NFL QB.
