I watched the Vikes game as many of you did. Did you see Brett carefully looking at the pictures after his first series. Yes, he was with the QB coach and some WR's carefully studying the defense that was against him.

With all the games he's played you wouldn't expect to see that....NOT TRUE. As a full time professional, it's his job! And the QB coach has to help point out what's there so options are clear.

I never seem to see Matt C doing that with our QB.

    WHY NOT!!!!!!

This post could have been named "QB Coaching...or the lack of it".

You probably don't see it because the cameras aren't focused on Sanchez 24/7 like they are with Favre. Favre could be in the bathroom taking a dump and Andrea Kremer would be there with the play by play.

There have been plenty of shots of Sanchez on the bench looking at photos and being caoched in game.

They always focus on him when he come off after a pick and often after bad series.....but I've seldom seen any "learning conference" on the side lines.

I've seen Schotty going over pictures with him on the sideline before. Schottenheimer seems to be acting as the QC coach in the same fashion that Ryan is acting as the DC.

This thread is misinformend and misleading to anyone short sighted enough to take "LV coach" at face value. I think its very cesspool worthy.

That's you're take. But I just spent a bit of time reading the threads asking us to pick up Garcia (or any QB that could help teach #6 some skills he hasen't mastered yet), so more work with Matt and Schotty could be helpful.

you can't take what the TV cameras give you.

they give you five 3 second clips of Sanchez and then go back to the game.

how about the other 3 hours of them being on the field?

Its the QB voach and the OC who are supposed to teach Mark his job. Gettign a vet QB now is useless, he will never pick up enough of the play book if he needs to get in.

You claimed you did not think Mark was being coached up, because you never notice it on TV. Thats about as fucking stupid of a notion as there has been out there on the board this week.

The best time to teach something is immediately after the mistake. The playbook is not as important as Sanchez learning why he misread the defense. The criticism of Schotty and Cavanaugh is legit - the proof of the pudding is that Sanchez is NOT learning - he seems to keep on making the same mistakes over and over. By the way, why have you gotten yourself in such a rage over a comment that only wants to improve the Jet offense. Over the years (and you can ask anyone on this site), improving the team is my #1 concern - not to have to respond to uncouth comments from the likes of you.

I think its legit as well. You'll see him get a talking to, but rarely looking at the cutups. HOWEVER - that's not the only way to teach. I think we should be concerned about Sanchez's recurrent mistakes, but we should also realize things like that happen to all rookies. We should be worried about Schotty's lack of handson teaching, but we should also realize... ok, Schotty needs to go, but let's not throw the Sanchez out with the bathwater.

He doesn't have to study the pics because he's too busy eating hotdogs..

    Sorry I had to...

You're crazy if you think Sanchez is not looking over the pics with the coaches. All teams do this with their personnel. They have to. Often this is where the games are won, its called strategy....

    I'm totally with you LV.
Come on, those that have played. Remember when you first started playing, there would always be one guy other than the OC who you could go to for the finer points of the game. Its not just about learning the PB.

So, because the OP can't remember seeing a shot of Sanchez looking at pictures, they should bring in a vet Qb with four games left in the season to what? Show him some pictures?

    I am confused.

Or more likely this is a bad thread.

Yes, and I'd rather not have to respond to the uneducated comments like the one at the start of the threat. Because the TV does not show shots of him gettingcoached it must not be happening? Again, a moronic notion at best, more likely a good attepmt at trolling.

Hey guess what, Last night my TV did not show shots of Flacco looking at pictures after one of his interceptions against green bay. I guess the ravens are not coaching him as well. Its a league wide epidemic we must curb now. Please someone coach the young QB's before its too late!

I can't speak for the OP, but what I think hes getting at , which I'm in favour of is getting a mentor in now, but not just for this season, next as well.
And actually when Sanch was throwing all these INTs, hes been sat on his own for a majority of the time, whether thats his choice or even right of the CS to let him ponder/sulk remains to be seen.
The way I look at it is IF we do somehow stumble into the POs and extra pair of eyes and ears can't hurt.

Maybe I need to reread the OP. I thought he said backup Qb.

Could Sanchez use more coaching? Probably.
