Look on the bright side guys. At least we don't have to worry about what Quincy will be doing if this football thing doesn't last. He took a business course designed to help football players prepare for life after football this offseason. I sleep better with this knowledge.
Why can't QE stay healthy groin issues tend to linger, no? Hopefully it's minor and he can be ready to go for preseason game 2.
Times like these make me wish I was a casual fan. They’ll just watch the game opening day and see Enunwa in the lineup not ever knowing (or caring) that he left a practice on August 6th. We gotta chill on the injury scares until it’s confirmed they’re serious. It’s training camp, players get banged up from time to time.
Yep. EVERY PLAYER gets injured in one way or another during camp, it's a violent game. Hell, Big Cuddly jammed his thumb last week and there was no mention of it and wr never would know about it unless he mentioned it to the press. It happens all the time.
And get held out for precautionary reasons. Not just to miss games. This isn't the first camp people have watched, is it?
I know Q’s groin injury isn’t serious but you have to wonder if he’ll be able to stay healthy the whole season. Crabtree is a FA, would you like Joe Douglas to give him a shot?
We weirdly don’t have much room on the roster for WR depth, I was thinking about this yesterday - Robby, Crowder and Enunwa are locks as the starting trio (3) - Bellamy and Peake are likely locks as special teams contributors (5) - It looks like Dortch has a good chance of winning the PR job (6) That’s already a roster-full of receivers, and that’s not even counting Burnett who I would like to keep to backup Crowder.
Charone Peake’s still on the roster?! I thought he was long gone for some reason lol I don’t know if it’s a good idea bringing Crabtree in terms of cap space but I believe he’s 10 times the receiver Peake is.
Gase said he wanted to go back in but they held him.out. so lets not jump off the cliff just yet. Id be more worried about maye even playing this yr. And who takes his place. Nerve issues could last yrs to heal.
Peake has stuck around because he’s very good on special teams. Crabtree may be a much better receiver, but that doesn’t mean anything if he’s not on the field. If one of the starting receivers gets hurt I can see them bringing in a vet like him, but otherwise there’s more value in a good special teamer who actually sees the field than a bench warming receiver.
It's good to see that Gase is being cautious with the banged up players. He's breaking in the players like you would a new car. Smart.
Hmm… maybe I haven’t payed attention to his name on game day, the one that always seems to be around the ball making plays on ST is Rontez Miles.
