I'm saying it right now. A lot will be made of us almost getting beat by an underrated Detroit team and the Browns beating the snot out of the Patriots. I'm telling you right now, you can all bash our group all you want all week and say how we shouldn't overlook Cleveland, etc. We're going to fucking roll Cleveland. We're going to beat the snot out of that team in Cleveland and we're going to out-physical them from pillar to post. I guarantee it. I'll be back here Sunday, in this thread, to say it.... but it won't be an "I TOLD YOU SO". It's going to be "Lets go eat a goddamn snack". We are one of the top two teams in the AFC. Pittspuke and Baltiwhore can duke it out for the other two. But my mighty franchise doesn't lose to loser, moribund franchises like Cleveland who have caught lightning in a bottle for two weeks. We're going to fuck Mangini right in his mouth. He's still fat btw.
I don't see a rookie QB balling all over us. I think our defense has big game. Force Interceptions. Hopefully.
that's right. it's not even going to be a game. We're going to smash them on their field and take their women and horses. hide the ale or we'll take that too. Brian DABOLL and Eric Mangini? They don't belong on the same field as us. Their franchise/team should have stayed sold like they belong, they're an imitation brand NFL franchise.
I'm thinking our D is going to score some points in this game. Pick Six/fumble recovery -- Our D is going to cause Colt McCoy to rook out. They might not have much left in the tank after that shellacking they put on The Cheatriots.
The Browns will approach this game the same way we approached GB. High on the hog and due to get shat on. Jets win this game handily IF they handle Hillis and 3 of the best OLinemen in this league. They are very good.
this is the key to stopping the browns. if we mandhandle their running game we will destroy them. If we allow them early success we might be in for a dogfight. If our offense comes out of the gate and puts up 10+ in the first quarter while our defenses stuns the run game, the browns better start shitting themselves...
Do you have any reasoning behind this prediction? What about this match-up tells you the Jets are going to steamroll them? I'm not saying I disagree with you but your post is lacking any substance other than a chest pounding declaration.
I still need a game to see that they can go from committing all those mental errors to near flawless football. We will not blow these guys out if we commit anywhere near the same amount of mistakes. The Browns are an overachieving team playing their asses off right now. I say we win by a TD in a semi-close game, no heart attacks though. We show some signs that we can demonstrate discipline and we leave the game 7-2:beer:
I'm putting my vCash on this one. The only way this game is close is if the Jets let Hillis run wild. Make McCoy beat you.
I think if Sanchez throws for 300+ and 4 TD we can totally destroy the browns. This considering that our D will totally dominate their O. (what? I thought we were just wishful thinking in here)
Yeah Rex needs to reverse course and deactivate the extra DBs and active all the front 7 guys we need. I wanna see McCoy crying after the game.
The nature of the Jets team. Great defense and inconsistent offense means the Jets have the potential to win or lose any game against any team. They could just as easily beat the Colts as lose to the Browns or the Lions. We do not know which offense will show up for the Jets each week. The one where receivers drops lots of first downs and Sanchez has happy feet in the pocket or the one where they develop confidence and a rhythm by converting 1st downs and hitting a few shots down field. If we can't score any team can beat us including the Browns. Until Sanchez and the entire offense starts executing better there will be no easy wins. Sometimes I think being a Jets fan should come with a surgeon general warning that said "rooting for this team could be hazardous for your health."
The Jets are playing everybody close. The penalties and lack of discipline at times is unnerving. I expect more of the same until they start putting together sound fundamentals. I believe they will soon. Special teams is where this game might be won. I fold.
Cleveland looks good with McCoy--beat the Saints and Pats after playing the Steelers close. Hopefully they relax a bit this week but I doubt it. I expect another game like we just had.
I wouldn't sleep on McCoy. He's mobile, keeps his eyes downfield and is pretty accurate. He'll probably give us fits. Just key in on Hillis though. He needs to be stopped.
Tell you one thing, I'm very glad the Pats got whooped for obvious reasons, but moreso as a warning served to our team. I think we went into the Lions game, maybe a little over confident, so the Pats getting beat is twofold.
If Sanchez did that, we'd beat anyone. That will never happen. I'm hoping for around 200 yards, no INTs.
BINGO! Hillis is the key.I'm sure we all remember him running all over us at the Meadowlands, when he was still with Denver, in the rain.
He made a couple of awesome throws yesterday running to his right. Moving fast too, not just rolling, running.
I think we match up much better against Clev than we did against det. Their strength is the run and run stopping is our strong point this year. No one has been able to run on us this year, and that will continue. No way a rookie qb can handle Rex's D. Look for their offense to be completely shut down. We controll the clock and field possition. We should win big without our offense needing to do much. I'll put all my money on this one too.
