If James Hardy is on the board when we pick in the 2nd round, should we take him? We really need a red zone go-to guy.

Probably. I'd love Hardy, but there's an outside chance Sweed or Thomas could be there.

    Desean Jackson or James Hardy?

And would drafting Jackson and McFadden turn our offense into something dynamic?

I think in 3 years, with extreme dedication to his craft, Hardy can do what Plaxico does- on the field.

He has the size and speed, and in the red zone he'll be a menace for Defenses. That fade pattern Schotty loves to call would have a better success rate.

I would love to add some size to our WR core. He would be the WR to throw a fade route to.

If we take Ghoslton at #6...I want us to take Hardy. (Assuming he will be there)

If we take McFadden at #6...I want us to take Groves. (Assuming he will be there)

    One offensive playmaker...one defensive playmaker.

I would love it if hardy was there for us at 36. As most of you know I am a huge Limas Sweed supporter, and if there was any justifiable way to take him at #6 I would go with it. But there isn't. If we are able to trade down to mid-late teens, then he is the guy I want. If he is there at #36 he is a no brainer in my opinion. Hardy I think is going to be the second best WR from this class, so if we can snag him i certainly won't be complaining.

as long as I am wishing.... how about the most unlikely to happen draft scenario ever?

Chris Long slides to #6 the Jets select him,

Sweed falls to 36, and the Jets take him. IMO no better day 1 is possible.

of course there is always this wacky one involving trades,

Chris Long falls to #4 (Mcfadden is also there) we trade a 4th rounder to Oakland to move up to secure long, they want Mcfadden who they think will be there at 6. Jets get a call from Dallas saying we want Mcfadden this is what we will give you , both firsts, a second, a fifth, and our third next year. they knew Oakland wanted Mcfadden, and didnt have the ammo to move up to #3, so they resigned to not getting him, but when the Jets moved up Jones called and made a big time offer for the former Razorback. Jets say Hell yes, trade back with Dallas who takes Mcfadden, they call KC and offer up #28 dallas's second and our other 4th and Dallas's 5th, KC realises this is the best deal they are going to get, so they drop back, we move up to 5, take Chris Long and at #22 we get Sweed. So basically Jets make out like bandits, trading up to #5 while coming out of it with an extra late first, and a third next year, for 2 4th round picks (one of which we are likely to recoup if the D-rob deal with denver goes through) can you imagine how insane this would be? one team in the past decade has moved into the top 5, now in one year 3 teams do it, and one team does it twice!

Remember a few days ago we had that what on draft day would make you happy vs. becoming a wife beater/dog kicker for a day? This I think would make all Jets fans happy campers.

I'd love one of them too, but all but Lofton could and probably should be gone before then...

I'm thinking the same thing. However, if one of them slips through and we snatch them up, I'll be extremely happy.

all depends on who we take with our first pick. As much as I like Hardy we shouldn't take him in the second if we go with McFadden in the first. We need to equal it out. BTW there is no way in hell Thomas is going to be there.

Even what out? Its not as if he would be the second running back tanken in two rounds. Hardy would bring a completely different thing to the offense than McFadden. There is little reason what so ever to pass on hardy if he is there. if the staff feels eh is the best player available, then take him.

Hardy is the guy I've had in mind for our 2nd rounder for the past month or so. I'd love that pick.

Like it has been stated above, Hardy would do wonders for our Offense if we can snag him in round 2. You definately won't see me complaining if he is our 2nd rounder.

Interesting that not to long ago Kelly was the hottest WR in the draft now no one is even talking about him in the second.

Well I think the reason no Jets fan wants Kelly is because bad knees have become a bit of a fear for Jets fans with Robertson failing physicals, and Vilma's knee issues we just don't want to pick a guy that everybody knows has bad knees.

ummm, yeah that would be great in dream world, if dallas trades up with us we would get their 2 first rounders and thats all. not 2 firsts a second a 5th and a 3rd next year. thats just silly. ;/ but anyways, yes if hardy is there when we pick in round 2, we take him, nuff said.
