Really? That sucks man! I thought that was just 360's. My PS3 has never caused me a problem, my 360 died on a daily basis.
Yup, the yellow light of death. I never thought it would happen man. I had heard about issues here and there and just figured those were the unlucky people who bought one that got dropped or something....and here I am with a big shiny fuckin brick! Anyone wanna do me a favour and look up a guy named SHAHEED and just tell him jtuds PS3 is broken??? He runs a franchise I am in and would want to know...
My xbox has failed me twice now, but at least microsoft had the decency to fix it for free and get it back to me within 3 weeks. Sucks they want $170 for it.
This place worked for me. Cost me $60 http://www.ps-pros.com/(X(1)S(qof4f445aiqthx555ugqta45))/playstation-repairs.aspx
Can someone seriously message SHAHEED for me and let him know what happened? Just say I got the yellow line of death and will be off for a while....thanks.
i had one of the launch 60 gigs with ps2 backwards compatability. after a couple years and constant abuse (5-8 hr play times, using it as a dvd player, leaving it running all night) it finally gave in. the failure rate for the older ps3's is somewhere around a little under 10 percent for the 60 gigs and somewhere around 7 for the 40 and 80's and yes 360 failure rates are worse. you have a couple options, you can find a place that does console repairs or pay sony 150. and if you send it into sony, and your PS3 Yellow Lighted with a disc in it its stuck till its repaired. and sometimes sony wont send it back. there is however a do it yourself guide on how to fix them. ive done it a couple times and it works. but theres always the possibility of it happening again. mine is fixed but my friend ripped a blue ribbon cable from the motherboard to the blu ray drive so im too lazy to pay 10 bucks and have one shipped in. i went out and got a ps3 slim so i dont have to worry about it. they use smaller processors and generate less heat. if your interested in finding out more just PM me.
I had an extended warranty and dropped it off today for repaair. madden 10 is inside, so I hope they send it back....the Sony store (sonystyle) filled out the form mentioning that the game was inside.....if it fucks up again I am going to buy the 250GB system for 349,99 in November.
Haha, as these new consoles become more like the personal computer, they also start acting like them by not working correctly. If I had a PS3, I would so find a way to put it's processor into my laptop. But if that were possible I'd have to weigh down my laptop so it wouldn't take off.
