I haven't read any detailed reports of the hit that gave Pryor a concussion. I keep wondering to myself: was it an accident or did he run his mouth and get put in place by someone on his own team? He says the hit came out of nowhere and he wasn't prepared for it, which makes me think the latter. Yet, wouldn't a guy like Cimini pounce on a story like that (internal feud between 1st rd rookie and someone else...)? What do you all think?
No way! A player got a concussion and doesn't remember the exact second it happened! Really, no big deal. It happens.
Nah, there's absolutely no chance this was intentionally done. You make him carry pads if you want to punish the guy, not give him a freaking concussion. Plus a player got blocked into him and he didn't see it coming. Good news is it was his first concussion ever according to Pryor. Was a good hitter in college but always led with his shoulder.
Yes, it was Richie Incognito. There used to be a minimum post count before you could start a thread. Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio? _
Intentional injury is a bit of a stretch but many vets despise high profile rookies who haven't earned shit, and they enjoy putting them in their place. But Pryor hasn't ran his mouth that I know of, and he was playing on special teams when it happened, so I'll say 99.9% chance it was an accident. Now if Richie Incognito was playing next to him when it happened?
Who knew? When I typed the 2nd post I got an error msg: 'Must wait 2 more seconds'. I guess rapid fire is out.
The concussion happened on a kick return play. Pryor was blocked, and it just so happened that he was hit such that his head rotated a bit at the chin area despite his helmet. Getting hit in the chin with any decent amount of force is more or less an automatic concussion. In boxing, they say that a boxer "has chin" if he is able to withstand a lot of head trauma. And then on the flip side, if he's particularly vulnerable, they say he has a "glass jaw". Anyway, the right shot at the right angle would knock out anyone. Pryor wouldn't be talking trash to his teammates even in practice, so it's not that. It was just a random practice accident, nothing more or less. Thankfully it wasn't the kind of injury that would cause him to miss a huge amount of time.
I just hope he is cleared to play the colts if he starts losing pre season games he might get behind.
Kinda scary when a guy making his rep on blasting people GETS concussed. Not sure how this is gonna play out but certainly he can't get too many more of these so, someone needs to teach him how to hit hard without getting hurt.
