The Bengals would love to get McFadden as Rudi johnson averaged under 3 yds a carry. He is an old 29 as he runs betwwen the tackles and is beat up. Our 6th for their ninth and and 3rd round pick (14th). It would fill in the vital 3rd round and as we then a CB or a rivers fit at the 9th slot.
yes, they would love to, and so would a bunch of other teams. but is it their most pressing need to address with their ninth pick?
Ok, I'll play.. Nice theory, thought out but 1 big question you didn't answer. Who do we take @9 that would benefit us as much as the player we'd get @ 6?
Okay, so what you're saying is: Our 6th (1600) for their 9th (1350) = 250 Then their 3rd (which I think you're saying in the 3rd round they pick 14th (200) and NOT 9th (225) again)...then... 250-200=50 Assuming they have ALL their picks at #9 for the remaining rounds... this would mean, they'd have to trade their 4th (not likely since that 4th is worth 84). Or more likely their 5th & 6th just to make a little over 50. If I was a Bengals GM, I'd pass.
9 i think is a bad spot for the Jets, unless they want a cb. there is not likely to be anyone we want at 9. Gholston who has the best chance of surviving this long, (as opposed to either long, gholston and Dorsey) would be gone, so we would have to go CB. or reach for a WR which most people are opposed to at this point. I think the 12-16 range is a better spot to trade down if possible.
Any trade down that keeps the Jets in the top 10 is likely a very strong move unless one of the Longs drops to 6.
I was the biggest McFadden homer on here, but if McFadden does fall to us to No. 6, we can get maximum value for that pick and it might be worth it.
I actually think moving down to 9 or even 13 or 18 is not that bad. If Gholston falls past the Ravens, it's entirely possible he keeps falling since he's a bit of a tweener. The next 3-4 defense in Dallas at #22, so there might be some good value for tweeners in the 9-21 range. If we can move down 2-3 times and pick up 2-3 picks, that's worth it in my book.
Who do you think was a better prospect coming to the NFL Draft - A Peterson last year or D MAC this year? If DMAC is as good as AP or if possible better....I too would throw up if we passed on him. I have been preaching def (Gholston) or trade down all along, mainly because my thought was that DMAC was on a scale of 1 - 100 around a 92 while A Peterson was a 96 coming into the draft last year. Then again R Bush was a 99 on my scale and AP appears to be a much better back at this point in their careers. So, would like to know if you think DMAC is as good as or better than AP last year.
Dude no way Gholston falls past 7, if hes on the board and we dont take him we are fools. There is no way DMC and Gholston are on the board at 6. Likely only 1 of the 4 guys we are targeting will be there. Both Longs Gholston or Mcfadden. And if we trade down, unless we make a killing and move back far i.e Dallas, we shouldnt do it. If we trade to 9 or 10 or 15 were in the same dilemma.
