DeVito didn't play a fancy position but he was a good player for this team... there is a reason the KC Chiefs offered him 12 mill over 3 yrs.

kerley is good. that isn't a secret. I won't be surprised if he and hill are the #1 and #2 for a few years .

now,am I too sensitive or was cimini still taking unnecessary shots with his tebow comment thrown in the article?

Kerley could play the position Holmes plays and the dropoff would be very little at this point if at all. He's one of the no-name players that the Jets could really profit off of giving more snaps too.

I agree with this. In fact, Kerley had more receptions and yards last year than any year Holmes had with the Jets ... and that's with the worst Jets offense we've seen in a while. His stat line actually looks quite similar to a typical Holmes season with the exception of TD receptions (for whatever reason).

Kerley is more than just a third down threat. He is an every down WR who creates mismatches with his quickness and shake.

He was a very good run stuffer who has no business being on the field in passing situations in a league that heavily favors the passing game. He also seems to be on the decline. The Chiefs overpaid.

Of course he was. This way every time someone googles Tebow Cimini's columns will come up, and taking a shot is just a bonus.

Kerley is a proven NFL receiver. I like him as a slot guy now if Hill can develop into that deep threat and if we can find another big receiver now we'd be in business.

Kerley is definitely a player I'd like to be a Jet for a long time. I don't think he's gonna be an all-star, but he's already showed enough promise to convince me that he can be a solid contributor for a long time.

They do one for every team, perhaps read the article instead of bitching about the title.

Kerley was an impact playmaker in college. He will be even better this coming season with a healthy Holmes back in the mix, along with Hill improving. 3rd year is typical breakout year for WRs. I just wonder who the other WR will be. I feel like we should sign another WR or 2 for insurance. I can think of a couple off the top of my head that would come cheap and could be game changers.

Thats why the jets will run more 11 personnel this year...something they should have been doing for four years

Totally agree. Keeping Mevis would have hindered our franchise even further.

I mean, let's just take a look at the situation.

    > Mevis is a VERY greedy player who has held out TWICE in his tenure as a Jet
    > We couldn't give him a big contract to keep him
    > He was leaving after next year
    > We either keep him for one year and lose him for nothing, or we trade him

Idzik, with absolutely no leverage, turned a one year rental CB coming off an ACL into 2 picks (1 of which was a 1st rounder in Shel Rich who looks to be a BEAST on tape).

Yes, trading Revis was AWFUL.

that's w/ an offense trailing in games most of the year w/ NO other receiving options. We saw the results of Jeremy kerley as a #1 option. He is a perfect 3rd or 4th option in an offense. I am looking forward to his best season w/ a healthy Holmes and Hill on the outside.

He should be a killer in the slot, all those reps last year helped him develop some chemistry with Sanchez, and I would expect much 11 personnel, and for Kerley to be Sanchez security blanket, and do better at it than Keller did.

kerley will be the reason holmes becomes expendable next year. going into next year kerley and hill will be our #1 and #2 wr's and no one will think we will need an upgrade there. now if zach rogers turns into the slot guy he is being hyped to be i think we will be ok at wr going forward
