I heard on Boomer & Carton there will be a press conference at 10 a.m. with Tannenbaum and Woody Johnson to recap the season. I am not speculating on anything else, but I'm sure most of us will be interested to hear what they have to say.
10 AM Press Conference.. With Woody and Mike T! Does this mean the end of the Mangini era? or is it just a BS we will explore all options PC? I think the fact that Woody is going to be there and not Mangini spells doom for this regime. Time to start over.
7:45 AM ... JUST MENTIONED THE PRESS CONFERENCE ON ESPN. Joe Walton, Bruce Coslet, Pete Carroll, Rich Kotite, Bill Parcells, Bill Belechick (1 day), Herm Edwards...and now Eric "Mangenius" Mangini. Mike T: Ummya, Eric, we're gonna need to have a sit down today to discuss the direction of the franchise." Eric: Should I bring an empty file folder box? Mike T: ummm..ya. Eric: Do I get to keep my stapler? Mike T: umm..no.
I don't think they are going to fire Mangini. Maybe the coordinators, but I think Mangini's here to stay.
The thing is I like Mangini. I think he can be a good coach. He's had two winning seasons here. But the decisions made in the Seattle game and the total unpreparedness and playing down to the level of some of their opponents is what I think should do him in here in New York.
Despite the 8-3 start, he lost this team the day Brett "Its all about me" Favre walked in the door. It was a true test of his character and he failed. Probably a blessing in disguise. Now we wont have to watch him flounder around for 2-3 more years with 8-8 records and players with "potential". Seems like a nice guy and im sure he was an excellent ball boy back in the day.
its all about feeling the pulse of your team, thinking outside the box. Mangini does neither he needs to go. Bellichek yesterday on the pooch punt on 3rd down showed what great coaches think about and do.

Woody should invite Mangini to the press conference and hand him a slip of paper right before walking to the podium: "U R fired as HC of the NYJ."

And make him read it to the media. "It is a surprise Eric, open and read aloud when you get to the podium"
Tannenbaum hands the guy a team full of All Pro's and Mangini doesn't get the most out of them. That's the HC's problem. I think it showed Mangini was in over his head.
After their interview of Cimini, it is pretty clear that mangini is about to be fired. Now the Q is what do we do? IMO, Cowher makes sense, but what about Spagnolo?
