Not who you want them to take or hope they will take, but who they do take:

    My prediction: Dominique Rodgers Cromartie

With the number six pick in the NFL draft, the New York Jets select Darren McFadden, running back, the University of Arkansas.

I won't hate on the Cromartie pick, but I must say that I wouldn't be overly thrilled with the pick because it could be risky. (Played for a small school)

Here is how I see the top 5 playing out as of today:

    1- Dolphins- Jake Long OT
    2- Rams- Glenn Dorsey DT
    3- Falcons- Matt Ryan QB
    4- Raiders- Chris Long DE
    5- Chiefs- Sedrick Ellis DT
    6- Jets- Darren McFadden RB

The Jets aren't just getting a runningback Jets fans. They are getting a offensive weapon who can make plays ALL over the field. He catches the ball, he throws the ball, and he runs the ball. Our offensive production has dipped the last few years...what better way then to get the best offensive player and arguably the best player in the draft?

I'll be disappointed if it's anybody else (or Chris Long but that isn't going to happen)

Gholston hopefully. I think he'll make the biggest immediate impact on the team besides Chris Long. I'd also be ok with McFadden, Cromartie, or a trade down.

As of now,a little less than 3 weeks, I'm going to go with Leodis McKelvin. The Jet's were willing to make a Huge offer to Samuel, but he only considered the Eagles. If Jake Long, Matt Ryan fall, they will be considered.

I'm not convinced Tangini is sold on Gholston, especially since Pace is on board. I don't think they will draft DMC either.

These opinions are what I think the NY Jet management will do, not exactly what I would consider.

i was opposed to taking dmc, because i felt gholston was a better pick. filled a need without reaching just to do so. however, i agree with what you said about dmc. this team needs an offensive weapon opposing teams stay up at night worrying about. i like dmc at 6. just really have a hard time believing raiders will pass him up.

It will be Gholston or McFadden. One of them will still be there and the Jets won't trade down if they are.

I'd say at this point Gholston. I feel like the Rams, Phins, and Falcons aren't going to take him and the Raiders will take McFadden over him.

We'll probably have a better feel of whether Gholston's the guy this time next week after he meets with the Jets. If he fails to impress, I think Cromartie's the pick.

It seems, at least according to this thread, it's a toss up between McFadden and Gholston. If this is accurate, I think the FO will (and I hope) come to the conclusion that our pass rush is much weaker than our running game right now - thus breaking the tie.

    Gholston is the pick -

It doesn't hurt that it takes away one of the main players the pats are targeting as well

    Gholston

I don't buy St. Louis taking anything other than an OL and the McFadden and the Raiders are too nice a fit given his shady history and al davis penchant for speed.

I know I am in the minority here, but I really like this kid, I have seen him play a lot, and he is really a well balanced player. His 40 time in his underwear isn't the best, but he has great on field speed. Has great instincts, and always seems to take the right angle in a pass rush.

Great motor. he seems to be a Mangini type player, and fits the scheme real well. I think if the Jets don't take him he is gone at 7
