I know this is early, but I thought it would be fun. Conley LS -- Tanner Purdum Practice Squad Robert Griffin Hayden Smith Terrance Ganaway I think maybe Bellore or Mauga could be cut instead of Ganaway, but I went with my gut Not knowing what Bart Scott really looks like yet made it difficult.
Trimming it down to 53 isn't easy. I think so long as Maybin is healthy Sapp is a luxury and he loses in a numbers game.
This would have been fun, but you about nailed it in the OP. My only change is they cut schlauderaff, having slauson double as back up center, to get Ganaway on the 53 man. Rex loves his running back depth and we've gone with 5 in the past.
Assuming we don't pick up anyone else I'd say you're probably as close as anyone would be able to guess.
Fair enough. I'd probably go for something similar to what you have, except maybe Bellore/McIntyre out for Sapp/Gannaway.
I would replace Bellore with Sapp. I like Bellore a lot, but I think a guy like Sapp could still develop into an impact player.
I don't think they keep 6 WR's. A "ground and pound" team doesn't need 6. If White can contribute on ST's that tips in his favor and Turner is the odd man out. If speed is a priority like the staff has said then Sapp stays in favor of McIntyre who is too slow. Sapp is younger with a higher upside and McIntyre is a journeyman who has pretty much hit his ceiling. Posey has had 2 years in the league where no one has picked him up so I think they can go with 5 CB's and add another RB like Ganaway onto the roster. Between Bellore and Mauga I think only one will make it. Not really sold on the undersized Bellore. I'm thinking Mauga stays.
I can definitely see Simms taking McElroy's spot if things continue the way theyre going. I could see Sapp making it over McIntyre (not bellore though, he's a good ST player).Besides that i'd have it the same as the OP. In my opinion, its more interesting to see how they'll order the depth chart for the WRs and RBs. Its definitely reeally up in the air.
I think Connor will be cut in favor of Gannaway. An OL is not in camp yet. Bellore definitely makes it, Mauga could be surprise cut.
Connor isn't getting cut. He's one of the best blocking FB's in the league already and he's on a cheap rookie contract. We're going to be a ground and pound team, we will use him a lot. Good point. I think most of these receiver "injuries" are just precautions right now though. If it were a regular season game tomorrow Holmes would probably be the only one out.
FB is not that important in Sparanos system, and Gannaway can play that role as needed. He is very expendable.
