Who do you want starting Week 1 in Houston? Kellen Clemens or Mark Sanchez?

Your thoughts may change during Training Camp so it will be interesting to see what people think before camp starts.

Mark Sanchez is the future, no doubt, but it he ready to go?

Is Kellen Clemens ready to finally be the starter of the Jets?

What do you want to happen and why?

TRAINING CAMP IS NEAR! J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!

As the season gets closer, I want Sanchez to start because I'm excited about the young prospect and watching him develop under the correct philosophy of running the shit out of the football and playing a simple offense..... but, the fact that he started 16 games in college makes me feel he has a lot more to learn behind center in the NFL. I'd rather him be the scout team QB like Clemens was against the 1st team defense, learning through film and then against the starters in practice during the season.

I feel as if throwing him in right away may take a turn for the worse, as we've seen with a lot of junior QBs coming out of college.

This is a transitional year, and it's going to take a lot of patience. Patience in football- ha, who am I kidding.

Mark Sanchez is on his way to camp now. Is it not stupid o'clock over there? Like 5.30 when he said that?

I am not a fan of starting rookie quarterbacks, but it is a perfect situation to do it. Great o-line, great running game, and a solid defense to back up the young guy. Plus he is just as new as the coach, making his head coaching debut. I am on the fence until I see Sanchez play live, so for now I am saying Clemens for Week 1.

I'm definitely not a fan of the Herm Edwards mantra, "nothing gets you more experience on the field, then watching other people play."

The Sanchez-Era began when he was drafted. Let's get it on.

I can't respond to the poll yet because I want whoever exhibits the most readiness in preseason to start.

Sorry, but that's not a good enough reason to start him, IMO.

Yeah, of course. Everyone wants that. But if you had to choose one now, who would it be?

Okay, if you put a gun to my head and make me choose now, then I still have to go with whoever has exhibited the most readiness up until this point in time.

That would be Clemens. But this is all hypothetical and not based on reality. There will be a preseason and one will look slightly better (or a lot better) than the other.

I don't blame you for posting a hypothetical poll like this, mind you. It's preseason... I realize that. Just one more way to pass the time, I suppose, until we can start getting into a more concrete analysis of their abilities.

I choose the QB that shows he's ready and capable to produce in the NFL.

Do we know who that is yet? fuck no.

Therefore....this poll should be doused in pubes and lit up like a christmas tree....till we know otherwise.

I saw that happen once. Sadly the poor schmuck had forgotten to shave the pubes off first. Was a bit of a disaster all round.

If Sanchez can't beat out Clemens we're not going to be too happy with the pick a year down the road is my guess. Clemens is not Drew Brees. When a franchise QB is drafted onto a team without a starting QB they generally wind up starting the season. On a team with an incumbent who is decent they sit for a half season or maybe a season, but on a team with no starter they start.

Although it is the popular vote now, I believe Clemens is deserving of the starting job only if he truly earns it. However, there are many experts that believe he should be the starter by default, to get Sanchez some time to view the pro-game from field level. I truly hope that th CS makes the right decision in this competition. Good Luck to both QB's

I don't get how people can write off Clemens when his only chance as a starter was in his second year as a pro behind a terrible o-line. He has 3 years in the same system and now has a solid o-line and run game. He may surprise us.

Sanchez is 3 years behind Clemens in terms of learning the offense and NFL development.

Although I feel bad for Kellen...I think mostly everyone is pulling for Sanchez deep down...
