The Jets announced recently that they're going to have some practices in June that will be open to the public. This supposedly will be before Training Camp in upstate NY. Does anyone know the dates or have a rough idea of approximately when this might be in June? One of my grandsons is a big Jets fan but lives in FL and is coming up in June for a visit. I'd love to find out what dates the Jets are planning so I can take him there for some practices. TIA for any information.

Here's the release: Jets to hold mini-camps at Florham Park headquarters by STACEY McEVOY/Independent Press Monday April 20, 2009, 5:01 PM AREA -- The Jets will open five mini camp practices to the public from June 6 to 11 at their Florham Park facility. The team's four week training camp at the end of July will take place at SUNY Cortland, nearly 200 miles from the team's Florham Park Headquarters, according to a press release from the Jet's website. After training camp is over, three additional public practices will be held at the Florham Park facilities on August, 22, 26 and 27, the release stated. Madison borough officials including Mayor Mary-Anna Holden contacted Jets officials to express their concerns that regional fans would be disappointed that the training camp was moving to upstate New York. Saying that she understood the choice to leave New Jersey for training camp so that the players could accomplish the goals of bonding and team building, the mayor noted that it was also smart for the Jets to open the mini camp practices to the public at the Florham Park facility in June and then close out the public practice sessions in Florham Park in August. "The Jets are providing for a nice fan experience," she said, adding that the borough would welcome the Jets for their mini camp practices by adorning the downtown with a banner and Jets flags lining the streets starting in May. The Jets will also return to Hofstra University on Aug. 12 for a Family Night Practice. Three Jet draft parties will take place in Times Square in New York City, Farmingdale in Long Island and West Nyack in New York.
Darn it... he's coming the following week. We'll have fun at the Jersey shore but I really wanted to squeeze in a practice or two... he would have freaked out. Well.. maybe next year. I might slip over there that week by myself just to check everything out at the new facility.
