The story with the Jets is that we've had 3 top-10 offenses in 30+ years. We've also had zero offensive-minded coaches in 30+ years (I don't count Gase as I could never take him seriously as a coach). The last time I saw intelligent and creative play calling was Charlie Weiss in 1998. And arguably 1999 when he made Ray Lucas look good. Herm as our second best coach says it all. Dude inherited Parcells' groceries and played to not lose the game. And then he turned KC's #1 offense into the #31 ranked offense. The reason why I care so much about Zach's development is I'm sick of this team's front office and coaching killing high-potential QBs. Zach has an incredibly high ceiling and an incredibly strong work ethic. In business, we call that attitude and aptitude. The fact that we're doing to him what we did to Geno and Sam is disheartening. If we can't develop him, this regime will never develop a QB. And that's unacceptable.
if Doug Pederson was coaching this team he would be 1 or 2 in both HC and OC categories he was available but the Jets didn't bother to give him a look
I always thought John Morton’s offense looked good and we never seemed to have a problem moving the ball when he was here despite having a C-squad cast.
