I have read alot of posts about many of the JETS players not being fast enough or being hurt to much or not strong enough........I think we have gotten very used to very good players playing below thier potential and I believe it was the lack of discipline from the Herm Edwards regime. I have read that he didn,t emphasize strenght training and conditioning, All reports indicate that Mangini takes this very serious like a Bill Parcells approach, so before we assume that certain players can't improve and change positions lets give this new staff to show us what is really possible.
    ANY OPINIONS?

opinions dont matter...its facts that matter...If Mangini is more strict with the workouts and conditioning, we most likely will see the switch of positions with players and see results...the fact is that we dont know for sure...opinions are no good here...its facts...then its the results that we can give our honest opinions on

No doubt last season the players were not ready physically or mentally for the season to start. Camp was a joke and I'm sure the off season conditioning program was run much like training camp. Hard to believe with a new HC and the cuts the team has made that many players will come to camp out of shape this year. Players who are in good physical condition should be able to train longer and retain more than out of shape players. Whether or not the teaching is excellent and effective or not remains to be seen. Hopefully the players are well prepared, on edge and ready to compete this year.

to me, just as important is Mangini's focus on smart tough players. He wants guys who can learn to play in his scheme, and are tough enough to play hurt and play hard when things get tough. The Jets' pick ups in FA are exactly what he told us...

    so far, so good!

Good posts. I'm really looking forward to TC this year... might have to make a couple of runs over the Goethals and Verrazzano. Winston is on target again... I can't see players having the balls to show up out of shape, given the new coaching staff. In my mind, that's the way to run camp anyway. If I were the coach, I'd tell the players they're expected to get in shape on their own beforehand and that camp is only to KEEP them in shape while they're LEARNING the system and what we expect of them.

Should be a far cry from what I witnessed last year.

Our defense responded well, with donnie henderson as our DC, obviously donnie was a tough hard nosed coach.

    Our team will respond well.
