Trade 1.09 and Joe McKnight to the Vikings for 1.23 and 1.25.

    Trade 1.13 to the 49ers for 1.31 and 2.02.

1.23 – Jarvis Jones OLB Georgia: Jones takes a huge slide (wishful thinking) and lands on our lap. Aruguably the best OLB pass rusher; fills need.
1.25 - Bjoern Werner DE Florida St: Will help facilitate the conversion to the 4-3.
1.31 - DJ Hayden CB Houston: Revis’s replacement as Wilson is not the long term answer.
2.02 – Eric Reid FS LSU: I like Rambo in the 3rd or 4th better but Reid is the cleaner prospect with regards to off the field issues.
2.07 - Quinton Patton WR Louisiana Tech: Holmes replacement once he is cut next year.
3.10 - Vance Mcdonald TE Rice: Versatile; can catch, block and long snap.
4.09 – Denard Robinson RB/WR/QB/KR/PR Michigan: Splurge pick. Robinson is an explosive playmaker with the ball in his hands.
5.08 - Ricky Wagner OT/OG Wisconsin: Slauson’s replacement. College OT who will best served moving inside.
6.10 - Zach Line FB SMU: WCO FB.
7.09 - Roger Gaines OT: Developmental RT prospect to ultimately replace Austin who’s a stop gap.

    OFFENSE
QB Mark Sanchez, David Garrard, Greg McElroy
RB Mike Goodson, Bilal Powell, Denard Robinson
    FB Zach Line, Lex Hilliard
WR Quinton Patton, Stephen Hill, Jordan White
    WR Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Kerley
TE Vance McDonald, Jeff Cumberland, Konrad Reuland
    Hayden Smith
    LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson
    LG Ricky Wagner
    C Nick Mangold, Caleb Schlauderaff
    RG Willie Colon, Vladimir Ducasse
    RT Austin Howard, Roger Gaines

    DEFENSE 4-3
    LDE Quinton Coples, Garrett McIntyre
    NT Kenrick Ellis, Damon Harrison
    DT Muhammad Wilkerson, Antonio Gray
    RDE Bjoern Werner, Calvin Pace
    WLB Demario Davis
    MLB David Harris, Josh Muaga
    SLB Jarvis Jones, Antwan Barnes
CB Antonio Cromartie, Aaron Berry, Darrin Walls
CB DJ Hayden, Kyle Wilson, Ellis Lankster
    FS Eric Reid, Josh Bush
    SS Dawan Landry, Antonio Allen

2013 is all about filling the holes on defense caused by attrition. 2014 will be all about the offense. With Rex's schemes and this personnel, I see this defense producing A TON of sacks

love ur defense approach as the jets once again can put it over the top being aggressive in this draft on D.

however, not sure werner would be the best fit in here. may need lean more toward a DE/LB mix as harris days could be numbered as well and pace is a 1 year lease.

love the patton and macdonald picks.

I just can't see us picking 4 defensive players in a row.

I remember back in January right after the bowl games how Werner and Jones were in everybodies top five. Now it seems most prognostications have both in the second half.

Good effort, I just think too defensive heavy. Plus Hayden will be gone by 31.

Yes and no. The current roster is funny like that. Outside of LT and C, we have a bunch question marks and could stand to "upgrade" at every position on O but no real glaring needs. Whereas on D we have gaping holes at certain spots (i.e., pass rushing DE, safety, LB...etc.) thanks to all the fat we cut. I feel the acquisition of MM combined with the departure of Sparano, will make a world of difference on offense. Also, this is not a very deep in terms of offensive talent.

Talk about a meteoric rise. Not too long ago he was projected to be a 5th/6th round pick and now the end of the first round seems unreasonable. Outside of Mayock, I don't see too many other pundits projecting him into the first round. I'm very interested to see where Hayden goes. I would think there would still be some concerns about his health. The kid tore a vein in his heart and almost died; I would think that's enough to scare most teams from drafting him in the first round.

That's what the combine and pro days will do to prospects. Whatever happened to "the tape don't lie".

Where are we getting the cap room to pay 5 of the top 40 draft picks? We only have $8 million total to play with. Last year we picked lower and had a rookie allotment of $5 million.

I actually think Werner can play OLB in a 3-4. I think he compares favorably to Ryan Kerrigan even though the latter is a little faster.

What I love most about them is that they should be able to contribute right away.

Is that a done deal? I guess I would not draft Denard Robinson if that were the case as he was my one "splurge". For those that love Tavon Austin, think how much more of a better value Robinson would be in the later rounds. The guy is just as dynamic with 2 more inches, 25 more pounds and the ability to throw.

I like the trades but absolutely hate the complete focus on defense. Essentially 4 first rounders on defense? Especially considering the state of the offense and the fact that the last 3 1st rounders were on defense??? Id probably throw up in my mouth.

I would want to punch a baby if we had 4 of the top 34 picks and used them all on D. Have you seen our offense?

I'd love to see the two trades downs but don't feel it is very likely. Seems more like wishful thinking.

Our D would be redic good in a year or two after this draft. Trade a 4th or 5th for Chris Ivory and I'd sign up for this.

Looks like Hayden might be getting some consideration.

May not necessarily be at 13 though.

hope you don't mind me posting this here. don't want to flood the draft board with threads.

#9 is traded to STL for their #16, #46 and #184. they do this to acquire Tavon Austin.

the recently acquired #184 is traded to NO along with a conditional pick in 2014 for RB, Chris Ivory.

    1. 13: Kenny Vacarro (S, Texas)
    1. 16: Jonathan Cooper (OG, North Carolina)
    2. 39: Robert Woods (WR, USC)
    2. 46: Zach Ertz (TE, Stanford)
    3. 72: Jamie Collins (OLB, Southern Miss)
    4. 106: Montori Hughes (DT, Tennessee-Martin)
    5. 141: Zac Dysert (QB, Miami of OH)
    6. 178: Luke Marquardt (OT, Azusa Pacific)
    7. 215: Jordan Rodgers (QB, Vanderbilt)

    Undrafted Free Agent's

    Elvis Fisher (OT, Missouri)
    Travis Chappelear (DE, Northwest Missouri)
    Jaz Reynolds (WR, Oklahoma)
    Kapron Lewis-Moore (DE, Notre Dame)

I chose two QB's in Rodgers and Dysert because I think we all know Garrard won't pan out. we've seen what McElroy can do, and we all know Sanchez. it just brings variety, if we run into any troubles.
