Round 1: Brandin Cooks, WR: I recognize that Cooks my not have ideal #1 height but nor do Steve Smith, DeSean Jackson, or Torrey Smith. Cooks speed could be lethal in a west coast offense (WCO) which utilizes short passes and YAC. He is also a great complement to Decker.

Round 2: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE: Didn't have a huge junior year but look at his previous 2 years and he's a sure fired 1st round pick. The WCO generally keeps the TE in to block about 50% of the plays which plays into Jenkins skill set. Additionally, he is a huge dominating red zone target.

Trade: Jets 3rd (#80) and Stephen Hill for Jacksonville's 3rd (#70): Face it Stephen Hill is a bust and he'll be buried on this roster with Cooks, Decker, and Kerley clearly above him plus Jacksonville needs a WR upgrade with Blackmon's future a major question. The Jets needed to trade up 10 spots for a CB with CLE, Min, STL, Bal, Det, SF all in the market for a CB in this draft.

Round 3: Marcus Roberson, CB: I recognize he ran a slower 40 but I feel as though this is residual from an injury which plagued him all season. Roberson is a CB who excels at man press coverage and is an excellent fit for the Jets.

Round 4 (TB): Dri Archer, Offensive weapon: I say this is the pick regardless if Chris Johnson signs as a Jet or not. He is a dangerous weapon for an offensive lacking big play ability. He can also contribute as a returner and can take over in the slot or RB depending on how next off season goes with both Kerley and Powell in contract years.

Round 4: Jackson Jeffcoat, OLB: Dude blew up the combine (6.97 3 cone) and had 13 sacks his senior year. He will be a situational pass rusher and can be groomed behind Pace until his retirement.

Round 4 (comp):Antone Exum, FS: A FS/CB whom i think can develop into a great cover FS to replace Lowery after next season.

Round 5: Max Bullough, ILB: Leader of one of the best D's in college football last season. A terrific run defender who can add some excellent depth to the LBs and can potentially take over at ILB in the future.

Round 6: Kirby Van Der Kemp, P: Excellent directional punter with a knack putting the ball inside of the 20.

Round 6 (comp): Ben Garder, DE: Absolutely blew up his pro day but he wasn't even invited to the combine. Will be a great rotational player for the already great D line

Round 6 (comp): Brett Smith, QB: A capable backup QB who will push Geno and Vick much harder then Simms

Round 6 (comp): Michael Schofield, OT: OT depth

Round 7: Kane Friel, TE: Blocking TE and special teams back up

    2014 Roster:
QB: G. Smith, Vick, B. Smith
RB: Chris Johnson, Ivory, Powell, Archer
    FB:Bohanon
    OT: Ferguson, Glacomini, Schofield
    OG: Colon, Winters, Campbell
    C: Mangold, Schlauderaff
    TE: ASJ, Cumberland, Friel
WR: Decker, Cooks, Kerley, Nelson, Ford
    DE: Wilkerson, Richardson, Douzable, Garder
    NT: Harrison, Ellis
OLB: Coples, Pace, Barnes, Jeffcoat, McIntyre
    ILB: Harris, Davis, Bullough, Bellore
    CB: Milliner, Roberson/Patterson/Wilson/Walls, Lankster
    FS: Landry, Exum, Bush
    SS: Allen, Jarrett
    K: Folk
    P: Van Der Kemp

Cooks isn't my first choice, not a fan of his size, but your arguments are well thought out. I am not too familiar with some of the guys you picked but it sounds like you are.

Overall this is probably one of the better mocks I have seen lately, hinges on the trade actually happening though.

I love the draft, but your 3rd round is puzzling. You say that Hill is a bust, yet Jacksonville is gonna take him and drop 10 places in the round, and he would be an "upgrade" for their WR corps? Sorry, but that makes no sense whatsoever.

Sorry the trade is confusing. Basically according to draft pick value charts to move from #80-#70 would require a late 4th round pick. Jacksonville WR core is a mess currently and considering they will likely select Mack with their first and a QB with their second they will still have a hole at WR. By this point in the third most top level WRs are off the board and Jacksonville sees Hill as a better player then who's left on the board. Jacksonvilles WR core is a mess currently, Shorts is good but Blackman can't stay of of trouble, they need insurance incase he never pulls it together and Remember Hill might have struggled but I feel a lot of coaches are intrigued but his size speed combo. This trade also allows Jacksonville to draft a RB in the 3rd which I fell like they would have done even if the trade didn't happen. Potentially to "sweeten the deal" the Jets could include a late pick like a 6th or 7th.

I'm sorry, but after two lackluster years in the NFL with little signs of real improvement or ability to stay healthy, no NFL GM is gonna think that Hill is better than any WRs currently on his roster and isn't going to trade down 10 places in the 3rd round to get him. That's just fantasyland/Madden-type thinking.
