If it's a third or higher, sure. Although that's just going to hurt Sam's development but at the same time... playing under Gase is going to do that regardless.

What would we get as a comp pick? A 3 in 2021? Our WRs are thin to begin with. I am not against it but at the same time not for it.

We could have a lot of comp picks in 2021. Beachum, Shell, Winters, Leo, Anderson, Jenkins and hmm who else?

You'd have to assume we're not really signing anyone to replace some of those players though. I imagine us to be active in free agency because of all the holes.

If we win next week it might be reasonable to keep him. Sam needs someone familiar (and some wins) to grow his confidence.
If we lose next week trade him for anything you can get. We won't be resigning him anyway.

would be stupid if we did that. hes the best WR we have now and has great chemistry with sam. you really want to leave sam with DT, crowder, bellamy, smith, and berrios? no way we do that. he's the only WR we have who can stretch the field. Robby needs to be locked in long term

We see what taking away what little weapons away from Sanchez did to him....

Sam needs an o-line way more than he needs a barely average wide receiver.

and a draft pick 5 months from now isn't going to be able to block for sam right now either. and moving robby creates a bigger hole at WR which is already a hole as is. robby is a FA this offseason, enunwa is likely done for his career and even if he comes back, you can't rely on him to stay healthy. bellamy and berrios are garbage. smith is a body. DT is a free agent. realistically without bringing robby back all we have going into 2020 is crowder.

I’m not trading the best at we have for a 3rd. Sams development is worth more than that

You act like Robbie is a valuable WR. He's not.

He disappears when the going gets tough.
Gives up on plays too soon and pouts when things don't go his way.
    Runs sloppy routes.
Can be knocked flat by a punter.
He is a one trick pony who doesn't have the attitude to improve and is easily replaceable. There are a dozen receivers we could get cheap this offseason that would be an upgrade over Robbie.

Which part do you think is wrong? We've seen him for 3 years.

Certainly you would have to subtract out signings. But my guess is we end up losing more than we sign unless of course we trade a bunch at the deadline.

With the trades that happened, I don't know if they will be a great return for him now.

The only way you trade Robby is if you’ve had contract discussions and his demands are unreasonable. Ideally you’d get Robby signed long term and find a #1 type WR to pair with him going forward.

He’s clearly not a #1 WR but paired with one he should be very dangerous.

I think he should get a contract similar to what sterling sherpard got last off season personally

I am not too high on Robby either, but trading him for 3rd is likely going to backfire. He is still young and has decent chemistry with Sam.

That said, Jets need a lot - A LOT - of high draft picks. I don't like sending Robby away, but if anyone is stupid enough to throw 2nd (Sanu went for 2nd, mind you.) then you should send Robby away.
