The following are Scott Wright's positional rankings for the 2007 NFL Draft. Please note that where players are ranked does not necessarily reflect where the players may go in the draft, but merely where he personally has them ranked on his board. Please be sure to keep in mind that it is still very early in the scouting process and that these rankings are extremely fluid.

Scott Wright's Top 32 Seniors for the 2007 NFL Draft

    Player Class Position School
    1. Brady Quinn SR QB Notre Dame
A franchise signal caller who really has everything that you look for.

    2. Joe Thomas SR OT Wisconsin
Could have been a Top 10 - 15 overall pick last year if not for injury.

    3. Paul Posluszny SR OLB Penn St.
One of the best ever from "Linebacker U" which is saying something.

    4. Michael Bush SR RB Louisville
Oustanding natural athlete with an excellent blend of size and speed.

    5. Gaines Adams SR DE Clemson
Sack artist who could rise if he picks up where he left off as a junior.

Athletic and speedy edge pass rusher who could go very high in April.

    7. LaRon Landry SR S L.S.U.

    8. Drew Stanton SR QB Michigan St.
Sky is the limit if he is able to stay healthy and play more consistently.

    9. Levi Brown SR OT Penn St.
Massive blocker who helps to pave the way for a great rushing attack.

    10. Michael Griffin SR S Texas
The next great Longhorn defensive back who's always around the ball.

    11. Jeff Samardzija SR WR Notre Dame
Athletic with top size, hands, body control and a nose for the endzone.

    12. Leon Hall SR CB Michigan
Battle tested coverman who is not afraid to come up and be physical.

    13. Justin Blalock SR OG Texas
A road grader who could play either tackle or guard at the pro level.

    14. Brandon Meriweather SR S Miami (FL)
Has the cover skills of a corner as well as the mentality of a safety.

    15. Patrick Willis SR ILB Ole Miss
Productive and a big hitter who flies under the radar a bit in the SEC.

    16. Quinn Pitcock SR DT Ohio St.
Ready to step up and become the Buck's next top defensive prospect.

    17. Tim Crowder SR DE Texas
Doesn't get a lot of headlines but will be one of the top ends available.

    18. Kenny Irons SR RB Auburn
Came out of nowhere in '05 and figures to have a huge senior year.

    19. LaMarr Woodley SR DE Michigan
Classic DE/OLB 'tweener who should be an ideal fit in the 3-4 defense.

    20. Kyle Young SR C Fresno St.

    21. Brian Leonard SR FB Rutgers
Versatile and productive RB / FB 'tweener in the mold of Mike Alstott.

    23. Ryan Harris SR OT Notre Dame
Undersized but has started a ton of games against elite competition.

    24. Jason Hill SR WR Washington St.
Extremely productive but may not have the ideal speed you look for.

The son of Bennie Blades but has certainly made a name for himself.

    26. Troy Smith SR QB Ohio St.
Dynamic threat behind center who can beat you with his arm or feet.

    27. Victor Abiamiri SR DE Notre Dame
Pass rusher with all the tools physically who has improved each year.

    28. Marcus McCauley SR CB Fresno St.
Overshadowed by Richard Marshall but could be a better pro prospect.

    29. Adam Carriker SR DE Nebraska
Productive sack artist who falls in line with other classic Husker ends.

    30. Doug Free SR OT Northern Illinois
Former tight end with top speed, athleticism and mobility for the o-line.

    31. Rufus Alexander SR OLB Oklahoma
The next in a recent string of top Sooner pro prospects at his position.

    32. Mason Crosby SR K Colorado
Rare prospect with a very strong leg who is a legitimate Day One pick.

Wow a FB in the top 25?

The more I see it, the more I feel we are going to get Adams or Moses and then maybe trade up with our 2 2nds for a tall WR.

I really think that Brian Leonard is going to be a Running Back in the NFL. He's got RB skills, and RB measurables (no way does he run under much slower than 4.5), and can do so many things that other backs can't. He'd definately be at his best in a tandem, a team like Philadelphia to pair with Brian Westbrook.

As for the list, I like it overall, though Mason Crosby is nowhere near a first round caliber player, he's not near as impressive to me as Nugent was in college. Also, I love Troy Smith in college, not in the NFL.

Let's remember, this list by Scott & Mel Kiper only represent SRs. When the JRs declare that listed is going to be watered down significantly.

Adrian Peterson, Ted Ginn Jr, Brian Brohm, Calvin Johnson (One of my favorites), Dwayne Jarrett......just to name a few will change the top 32.

I'm more impressed with the Juniors that will declare, than the current SR class. IMO, a weak SR group.

    Sydney Rice as well.

Any good junior players who could play OLB in our 3-4?

Watch Courtney Taylor (WR from Auburn) have a breakout season. With Obomanu and Aromashadu out of the picture he will be the main target of a pretty good passing offense.

Notre Dame should have at least first round picks next year,

    and that makes me sick.

I hate the Notre Dame Love Fest that goes on in the media, however, you do have to hand it to Charlie Weis...on an incredible job.

Um, are you saying that they should have a first round pick this year? By saying "that makes me sick" it sounds like you don't think any ND players deserve it... or maybe I'm confusing myself.

Well some guy named Brady Quinn is a top 5 lock, and Jeff Samardzija will also be a first rounder as long as he doesn't openly declare he'll play baseball for good.

Samardjaza and Quinn are first round locks, Abiamiri should have a big year, and should be a first rounder.

I hate Notre Dame, that's why it makes me sick.

He can definitely work in as both a HB and a FB, like a rich man's BJ Askew. This guy is a natural football player and I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes the first white 1,000 yard rusher in a long time.

white 1,000 yard rusher = Rocking horse shit

If BT doesn't work out at OLB or DE will be likely to go for a DE or RB next draft?

Right now, my top 5 for the Jets in 07 (if we really suck) is:

    1. Adrian Peterson- Best true RB that's been in the draft since LDT, he's my absolute #1 target, and has been since I saw him in the AA game 2 and a half years ago.

    2. Calvin Johnson- Special WR, he'll be a stud and a #1 WR from the moment he steps onto the field. 6-4, 220, creates seperation with ease, and has unbeatable hands.

    3. Gaines Adams- As a 3-4 OLB, he'll be unstoppable. Flat out. Makes Demarcus Ware look like a prepubesant girl.

    4. Dwayne Jarrett- Just as much of a talent as Johnson, he's less physically developed, but will bring more deep plays to the table because he's just a tad faster. That and he's a TD machine, once you hit the Red Zone, it's a lock.

    5. Quentin Moses- Another option as a 3-4 OLB, not only does he have one of the coolest names ever, he gets to the QB with ease. Plus, those Bulldogs know how to make their linemen.

Don't compare a player like Brian Leonard to BJ Askew...ever. They are not on the same talent level.

Even if BJ Askew has the words "rich" and "man's" in front of his name, he still sounds terrible.

GH, You and I are on the same page, I love all 5 of the players you mentioned. It's waaaay early, but you hit our needs pefectly... RB, WR and DE/OLB. The Jets will have to have a a pick in the 2-10 area to obtain one of those players. Jarrett and Moses may fall out of the Top 10....but Peterson, Johnson and Gaines are dead-locks for being a single digit pick.

Watch out for the Juniors coming out, they are going to make the Senior class look like chumps!!!
