After yesterday, I think Sanchez needs to get out of NJ. I think he's mentally shot. He's become Blair Thomas after the fumble. He and the Jets should agree that he could make his own deal with another team and work out a trade. I know this is a big leap of fantasy on my part, basically asking him to walk away from however many millions he's set to make this year. And assuming another team will trade for him. But this year is a lost cause for the Chise. Hope I'm wrong.
I agree for his own good he needs a fresh start, imagine the boos the 1st game on a Revis pick, just give the kid the job already so he can prepare for the season w/o all this undo pressure
I think the job is Geno Smith's to lose at this point. One of the things about being an embattled incumbent is that you have to do things to change your status. With every passing day (no pun intended) Mark Sanchez is reminding the Jets organization why his starting job is at risk. He's doing nothing to change the conversation other than throw a beautiful pass out of the blue now and then, which is something everybody has seen before. I don't know that Geno Smith is ready to start yet but it's pretty clear that Sanchez is also a question mark and in that situation all eyes go on the young guy to break the tie. Unless the embattled incumbent does something to change the conversation. I'd get rid of the headband. The GQ mentality is one of the big things that defines Sanchez right now. He needs to start changing that definition and he's down to the last few weeks that he has to do that with the Jets.
The Jets want Geno to win the job just as bad as the fans do. Mark will have to blow Geno out in order to keep his job and that ain't gonna happen.
Sanchise got booed in the G & W game yesterday after an INT. It could get even uglier after an INT or fumble in the regular season.
The team will start with Geno if he plays as he has been in camp during preseason...Sanchez is so turnover prone its going to get someone fired, Rex knows that
There is an element of that involved. You have to think though that Marty M and Geno Smith between them can produce a reasonable performance, particularly given Geno's evident aversion to putting the ball in a place where it can be intercepted.
Sanchez. I'm really not that bothered, I'd prefer Geno but I think if there isn't enough separation, then Sanchez wins.
Geno passed the training camp test (up to this point) now he has to light up the next 2 preseason games and the job is his. I think Geno will show us why he should be named the week 1 starter after the Detroit game.
I know his job depends on it, but until Geno is named starter my mind believes rex will go with Nacho
I think unless Geno blows Sanchez out, Mark will start. You can't start with Geno and then go to Sanchez if Geno struggles. However, you can easily go to Geno if Mark struggles.
I think Sanchez starts and Geno comes in after some amount of games. If Geno separates himself, or Sanchez separates himself in a bad way in these preseason games, I see Geno starting. But now, Sanchez still. So yeah, I think the staff goes with Sanchez initially
If the other team is forced to bring out their 2nd or 3rd string defense to defend him, definitely.
if sanchez starts on opening day, something tells me that only the defense is going to be introduced during the team introduction out of the gate.
