Our loss to the fish pretty much eliminates us from post season contention. Or maybe it was Idzik's decision to draft Geno, or Rex's decision to play Mark late in the Snoopy Bowl (at least we won it). Who knows? Here's a graphic that shows our situation (just in case Simms lights it up): Looks like: Jets finish 4-0 (9-7) Ravens/Fish finish 2-2 (8-8) :metal: Titans/Pitt/Chargers finish 3-1 (8-8) :metal: That's all.
Technically, Yes, yes there is a chance. Next week, the Jets need to win (obviously), Vikings need to win vs. the Ravens, Steelers need to win vs. the Dolphins, Broncos need to win vs. the Titans, and the Giants need to beat the Chargers.
Technically we're still golden. We're one game out of the last spot, but due to tie-breakers we need to win out for a game advantage over 5 other teams. Just win baby!
One more loss and we're done. 8-8 (at best) won't cut it. Next week is a MUST win. In fact, every week from here on out is a must win. If we lose one more game fughedaboutit
That's what 4-0 means, but yes, our playoffs start next week. Plus we need a modest amount of help from a few other teams. Not sure what's more likely, the Jets going 4-0 or a bunch of other teams losing a game or 2. But we're only a game out and still very alive. There are 4 other teams on the graphic that would gladly swap places with us.
Sad thing is we could lose 2 more games and with the pathetic records of our competition we could conceivably make it in at 7-9. Man...the AFC really sucks this year
Hopefully it will become 0-12. Plus the Steelers and Fish play each other so one of them will be adios after next week. Hopefully the fn fish.
AND ... The Panthers play the Saints / Jets / Saints ... A Perfect trap win for us! Come on ... Let's rally behind Simms!!
Haha this all has to be a joke, right now I am pulling for the Texans, jags,Bucs,Browns,Viks and whoever else has a worse record than us to start winning so we can finish worse than them and hopefully by some grace of god get lucky on one of the many potential franchise qbs coming out in the draft that should go in the top 5 of the draft.Seriously without the QB we will never go anywhere and its getting really frustrating with the disgrace that is our QB position lately.I will sacrifice the rest of this season for a potential at being competitive for the next 10.
Getting a franchize QB is all about next year. Right now it's 'can the Jets pull 4 wins out of their asses, make the playoffs, and go all Giants on the league and get us a ring?'
Oh my goodness us Jet fans are so delusional. Anyhow, win win win win and we're (maybe) in!!!!! Let's do this! SIMMSSSSSSSSS
