Could someone please post all the scenarios that would grant the Jets a playoff spot? I'm sorry but I am way too lazy to do the math. Thanks.
bargh. I hope your feeling is wrong. I really don't see us losing tomorrow. The last 2 games I can see us losing, especially against the f'n Raiders, but I also think this team CAN win all 3. Here's to a victory tomorrow.
I'm pretty sure they're are 4 scenarios. Keep in mind, all these are if the Jets win out, as if they don't, it's almost impossible to get in. 1. Jax lose 2, Den lose 1 2. Cinci lose 2, Den lose 1 3. Jax and Cinci lose 2 4. NE lose 2 That's it, jets gotta win out then need some help. I feel if they can, everything else will fall into place on its own.
I agree, all week I've been thinking if they just take care of business and win out, everything else will fall into place. I mean, 10-6 is almost always good enough to get you in. But looking at the help that is needed is scary - i would hate to be a 10-6 team that misses it.
"3. Jax and Cinci lose 2" As I have noted a number of times, if it comes down to the Bengals, Jaguars, and Jets for the two wild card spots and all three are 9-7 and the Jets lose to Minnesota, the Jets and Bengals will be the Wild Card teams. Chances of this happening are probably about 33%, but it is a chance. Losing to Minnesota on Sunday will not eliminate the Jets.
Your wrong. The jags beat the jets head to head. Its the 1st tie breaker. I have seen you post this many times
Jets at 9-7 with loss to MIN and wins over MIA and OAK would put them at 7-5 in the AFC. Bengals at 9-7 would be 7-5 in AFC. Jaguars at 9-7 would be 6-6 in AFC. Playoffs? Jacksonville out. Jets in, Bengals in. You are correct, if it were to come down to only the Jaguars and Jets. Jaguars would get the nod based on the head-to-head win. All three teams at 10-6? Jets are out. All three teams at 9-7 with the Jets beating the Vikings? Jets are out. But again, all three at 9-7 with the Jets losing to the Vikings and the Jets will make the postseason.
JAX can lose 2, and the Jets can still get in without Denver losing 1. How? KC wins out. If that happens, KC/DEN tie is broken first, KC wins that, Jets win tiebreaker over KC. General Point: There are too many combos to post now. Wait until next week to post all combos.
Good luck trying to convince people that we're still in it at 7-7. It'll be doom and gloom all the way if we lose today...it's just a natural part of being a jets fan this time of year.

Losing today will not bother me anywhere near as much as I was bothered when the Jets lost to the Bears in 2002. That Jets team wound up in the playoffs. When they lost to the Bears they faced worse tiebreaker scenarios than what this 2006 team could face with a loss today.
