Hope that we take a late round flyer on him. Sit him out for a year and have him get treated by our medical department. What do you guys think? http://m.nfl.com/news/0ap1000000108...rb-lattimore-to-apply-for-entry-to-nfl-draft/
Someone will take a flier in the 3rd. I'm not sure if I would that early, I'd have to see how well he's recovering.
I think he's going to be a very good NFL running back, even after that gruesome injury. It's not as if he was the type of back that sped past everyone, or is particularly shifty, even at his fullest strength, where you would worry more about his legs after this injury. Lattimore's greatest strength is his vision. He had an uncanny ability to find the hole and run straight forward. He certainly has a different body and I'm not saying he's going to have a similar career, but vision-wise, he reminds me of Curtis Martin (who coincidentially fell on draft day because of injuries) He's also by all accounts a good, well-liked kid. He will probably work really hard to get back and the Jets could do far worse on draft day than selecting him in the mid-rounds, that's for sure.
PLAYERS THAT HAVE DECLARED FOR 2013's DRAFT Let's have one thread for all underclassmen declaring. Discuss in this thread. Tyrann Mathieu, DB, LSU Keenan Allen, WR, Cal Sheldon Richardson, DT, Mizzou Da'Rick Rodgers, WR, Tennessee Tech Brandon Jenkins, DE, Florida St Akeem Spence, DT, Illinois Jonathan (Big Hank) Hankins, DT, Ohio St Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina
We will see, I think he will be a top 10 pick. A very raw player that needs more experience. Hank has the build to be a perfect NT, he's around 335lbs with super quick feet for a big man. He needs to stay inside, he won't be effective if a team occasionally moves him to end. He cannot be blocked one on one, double teaming him will neutralize him. Very stong player that can wear down interior O-lineman. Lots of physical potential, he's a beast, but I don't know if he will be the next Vince Wilfork.
Add Knile Davis RB -- Arkansas to the list. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoo...rkansas-rb-knile-davis-to-enter-the-nfl-draft
The one player I am extremely interested in seeing if they declare is Anthony Barr... Possibly the best passrusher next to Jadeveon Clowney in the country.
Why is Keenan Allen rated as a top 10 tallent, he is injured during the year, and I never saw him as spectacular. Seems like a bust waiting to happen.
I'm waiting for Laveon Bell to declare. He can catch coming out of the backfield and he is a power runner with speed, reminds me of Marshal Lynch I would stay away from Marcus Lattimore, would not even waste a late round pick on him. Those were some terrible injuries. Knee will never be the same.
Its official; Giovani Bernard - RB - Tar Heels UNC redshirt sophomore RB Giovani Bernard declared for April's NFL Draft. This announcement has been rumored for some time, but we feel it is the right decision for Bernard's future. The Tar Heel adds to the list of redshirt sophomores who have declared at the running back position in recent years. He will need to get past medical checks with a ACL injury in his past, but Bernard utilizes a sturdy base and quick cuts on short strides to beat defenses at every level of the field. Tyrann Mathieu, DB, LSU Keenan Allen, WR, Cal Sheldon Richardson, DT, Mizzou Da'Rick Rodgers, WR, Tennessee Tech Brandon Jenkins, DE, Florida St Akeem Spence, DT, Illinois Jonathan (Big Hank) Hankins, DT, Ohio St Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina PLUS Corey Lemonier DE Auburn Logan Ryan CB Rutgers Damontre Moore DE Texas A&M Stepfon Jefferson RB, Nevada Reports of players expecting to declare but have not officially done so Matt Elam, S Florida DeAndre Hopkins WR, Clemson Brad Wing P, (that's NOT a typo) LSU
I've watched a lot of Lattimore and that kid is going to be a beast in the NFL...if he can stay healthy. Two years in a row with injuries. Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come.
