Here's what I came out with

    New York Jets

Rd 1 Pick #30 Muhammad Wilkerson DL Temple
Rd 3 Pick #94 James Carpenter OL Alabama
Rd 4 Pick #126 Jalil Brown DB Colorado
Rd 5 Pick #161 Joe Lefeged S Rutgers
Rd 6 Pick #194 Akeem Dent LB Georgia
Rd 7 Pick #208 Blaine Sumner NT Colorado Mines

Also available in Rd 1 were Reed,Taylor,Ayers,Heyward,Paea

Rd 1: I would have gone OLB: Reed or Ayers

I like Wilkerson, but believe Ayers and Reed have a higher ceiling in the Jet's system.

Rd 3: I would have gone DT/DE: Jenkins, Fua

Never would I have drafted Carperter over Jenkins, Fua or Williams.

I wanted some OL depth with Woody gone, and Ducasse being moved into his spot.I thought one of the defensive players would be there in the 4th, but they went early in the round.

I understand the desire for OL depth and I agree that some is needed, but like WW85, I never would have selected OL depth over Jenkins, Jarrett or Fua. Martin Tevaseau is still a very unknown quantity. If Jenkins doesn't come back, the Jets will need another NT to rotate with Pouha. Jenkins could become a very good rotational and maybe even starting DE for the Jets. Jarrett could become a very good starting safety.

I like Wilkerson a lot, but would have been sorely tempted to take Reed. I've mellowed some on Reed, and think taking him at #30 would be at least a bit of a reach, so I possibly would stick with Wilkerson, but probably not. The Jets #1 need is still the pass rush, and they need an infusion of speed in the front 7. Reed would bring that and a great motor. I think the only way I'd have been able to pass up Reed is if I felt very confident that he would drop to the top of the 3rd round, and I could work out a trade to move up to the top of the 3rd to take him.

Yeah, the highlight was for who I'd want in each scenario. Brooks IS a true football player, though.

Any chance you can post the entire first round? I would love to see how all those guys were still there at 30. Mainly Paea and Wilkerson.

If Reed, Taylor, Ayers, Heyward, Paea and Wilkerson are on the board at 30, I would love Wilk, Paea or Ayers, but would be OK with any of them.

However, with that many guys in our wheelhouse left, I think I'd like to trade back 5-10 spots and land one of the others, or even one of the top 2 safetys. I would love to manage 3 picks in the top 100 at DL, OLB, S and still have 2-3 late round picks for developmental prospects.
