The 14 yard loss on the double reverse killed us Edit: I was thinking something different on my original post
We are a 2nd half team, if you watched our 2 playoff games you would know that, go post on your Colts board that I'm "making excuses" though. "He banged up his knee pretty bad and it’s swollen. The Jets boards and Jets media are all talking about it. They are already finding excuses." -freebo
You're right it isn't an outstanding performance. When we talk about being able to run the football, it's based on the performance throughout the entire regular season. 16-54 is pedestrian, about similar to what we put up last week @SD in the first half. Point is, if it's a close game, we will keep running the football, and our offensive line can wear down defenses. I would expect a smaller defense like Indy's to wear down by late 3rd quarter.
How do you expect to get 170+ yards? Those numbers are facts and they were against most of our starters.
Nice try ... but the fact is, when we lined up either one of our backs behind our O-line and ran it at you, we averaged 4.5 per carry... 15 for 68. That silly reverse was BS and really has nothing to do with our O-line against your front 7. We ended up with 202 yards rushing, and I don't seem to recall Randy White or Warren Sapp standing on the sidelines watching.
So now we get to take the silly plays out? uh okay I see now. Well since we are taking plays out, how about we forget about the over throw to Reggie that would have burnt down Revis Island.
If the game stays close, the Jets will continue to run and wear down the Colts like they have most teams. There's nothing special about your run D to make me believe otherwise. We've done it to much better run defenses.
The facts will be the numbers that happen on Sunday. I'm sick of everyone looking back to that game. There are so many variables in that game that it can be argued either way by either fanbase. I personally think Colts fans continue to look back at that game just to console themselves with the lingering idea in the back of the head that maybe the Jets could very well pull this off.
Yeah that worked out well for the Ravens last week too. I hope you guys have fun scoring 6 points because if you plan to run it 40 times then that's all you are going to get.
You guys only had 40 something more yards than us in the first half. Considering how flat we came out and the fact that our running game picks up greatly in the 2nd half, I really don't see your point. The Colts also got the ball first. You can say we had the same amount of possessions, but there was no time left when we started the last drive.
The Ravens neither stuck to the run nor kept the game close. We are not the Ravens. When will you get those simple points? Do I have to type them over and over again?
The Ravens didn't run the ball 40 times last week. I'm questioning whether or not you even watch the games?
