In hindsight, do you think that the Jets should have signed 3 out of 4 of these guys as soon as the injuries to the offense started piling up? I think it could have given Sanchez some legitimate weapons and receivers. Let the coach reign in the personalities. Those guys were so hungry to be back in the NFL that if there was ever a time to take a chance on them, it was this year. And they would have been available for pennies on the dollar. We'll never know the answer, but man it would have been a game changer, IMO. Defenses can't cover all of them and they can make the hard catches.

With the season that we had, signing those guys would be a lot like having Alligators guarding your home. They may stop the occasional home invasion, but in the end, you'll get bit.

Sparano's incoherent gameplans and playcalling would have been challenged long before midseason. Especially as the Great Tebow Experiment blew up in the lab. Seriously, do you think TO, Ocho or Plax would have simply kept their mouths shut and went with the flow? There would have been more leaks to the press than on the Lusitania after the torpedo hit.

To answer your question sir? None of them would have made a difference except Edwards and only because he's been thru this shit before.

I disagree with you completely. They should have sat Tebow on the bench unless Sanchez got injured. Forget the wildcat/punt protector crap. Then give Sanchez T.O, Plax, and Ocho or Braylon. Those guys are on such a tight rope that they had to shut their mouths. They just want to be in the league. And if they happened to have won... which I think they could have... there is less for anyone to complain about. Ocho doesn't really complain that much, he is just a character. T.O. is humbled. Plax is humbled.

You can't have these guys available for a bag of chips and a soda, and not go out and snag them considering what you have starting now.

None of those guys have a history of "keeping their mouths shut". Particularly in the face of adversity. Derrick Mason is the best example of how this organization deals with "talkers".

Perhaps they wouldn't have blasted the CS publically, but privately is an entirely different matter. If you think Santonio was a problem, why on earth would you add these combustable characters to your team hoping for a different result?

I think that just getting T.O. or Ocho in that game would of made a huge difference. Stop lining up the guy that's 5 feet 9 inches on the outside. I don't understand this offense. Also, why did we run the ball last night like 22 times with the RBs? We were killing them on the ground and after the 2 Min Warning they come out and throw. Rediculous.

There are leadership techniques which can mitigate those problems. I just don't think it is as big of a deal as you do. I think they blew a real opportunity here. The talent alone would have raised their ceiling immensely. Those guys knew it was their last shot. That is the best time to give them a chance on the cheap.

Do you think that the Jets would have had a worse record with those guys? I just don't see it.

    BTW, nice avatar.

I think that Plax could've had some value purely as a red zone target, but it's pretty obvious that T.O. and Ocho are done. It's no coincidence that every team in the league has straight up ignored them.

At the end of the day, the problems with the Jets offense start with QB play, and none of these guys are good enough receivers to cover that up.

Yep. The Jets win that game last night with those receivers. They can at least make up for bad passes with their physical gifts. Either they could have reached in and caught the bad pass, or slapped it down.

I think with Sparano calling the plays, the odds of this offense being anything than what it was regardless of personnel are remote. You can put Michelins on a hoopty, but at the end of the day, its still a hoopty. Sparano's system is the very embodiment of a hoopty.

    Desperate times...

I would have taken a chance on them.
