so this trade was just vetoed by my league. the two people involved are mad because they say we all over rate coles and favre because most of us are jets fans. do you think we were right to veto this? or are we actually biased.

A staring QB and a staring WR for a somewhat better WR?

I think you had the better of that trade, adding QB depth wile costing yourself only slightly in the WR department.

For them to veto saying you were overvaluing Favre and Coles is stupid.

no we vetoed it. it was a trade between two people in the league. we all thought it was pretty one sided and shot it down. we are now being accused of doing it only because they are jets players and most of us are jets fans.

i was just curious what others opinions were on if we were being unfair because as jets fans we have favre and coles over rated in our minds.

I don't think many of us do. At least not the guys who take fantasy football seriously.

I'm the one that sepnt a good ammount of tie this summer trying to covince my friend not to draft Thomas Jones too early even with our revamped O-line. He did not listen an is paying the price for taking him too high.

I did grab Favre in that league, but in the 5th round. I also got Cotchery in the 6th. I felt both of those picks were good values.

Coles I had down graded this year due to his past injurys, but bumped him up again when we aquired Favre. Coles went two picks after I got Cotchery in the same draft.

I do have the good fortune of sorts in that living in Erie PA. I'm usually the only Jets fan in a league. In fact most every GM I play against has a different favroite team. It gives you a nice good cross section of how guys are valued and you pickup on the bad GM's quickly if they keep taking guys from thier team.

All in all I think the trade favored the guy getting Favre and Coles. You add depth and two guys who are going to see a lot of action every week versus one who is a bit more top end.

It's a retarded veto. Granted, I think most vetoes are stupid, but it's a top 20 receiver and a top 7 QB for a top 12 receiver. Completely fair enough.

i hate the veto system...unless it is an obvious attempt to stack a team or unload talent
a lot of times the better teams veto to prevent a bad team from getting out of the gutter...
the only flaw with that trade is that burress is pissing the giants off every week to the point he could be suspended again
it also depends on how deep the league is....
favre/coles have a much higher value, but if favre is his backup then it should be allowed
