I know's it's PFT, but it's being reported by the local news papers as well.... FINS FIXIN' TO MOVE UP? Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins might be bringing in quarterbacks JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn for pre-draft visits. Though there's a chance (albeit slim) that Quinn will still be on the board when the Fins use the No. 9 overall pick, it's unlikely that Russell will fall that far. Thus, Salguero suggests (and we agree) that Miami could be plotting a move up in round one. There are rumors of talks between the Lions and other teams about the No. 2 overall pick, which Detroit currently owns. Indeed, we've caught wind of a trade that almost went down on Wednesday, which would have dropped Detroit deep into round one. Under the trade value chart, the Fins would have to come up with 1,250 points in order to bridge the gap from No. 9 (which is worth 1,350 points) to No. 2 (which is worth 2,600 points). Alternatively, they'd be required to pony up an acceptable pack of players, possibly including quarterback Daunte Culpepper. If healthy, Culpepper could be an intriguing fit in the Mike Martz offense. Some of Culpepper's best throws have come when he acts decisively in response to his first read. If Martz could get him to make quick decisions in a fast-paced offense, Culpepper might perform far better than when he stands in the pocket like a moose in the headlights.
this would be horrible...im a die hard notre dame fan and i love quinn so i couldnt be a fan of him if he went to the dolphins quinn will be better than jamarcus russell by a lot
That would be a shame. As much as I admired Marino for all those years I had to hate him just as much. It would be the same with Quinn.
Jamarcus Russell is an overhyped rocket armed bust waiting to happen, see Ryan Leaf. Quinn is much better than him, teams are just bedazzled by Russells arm strength (just like normal folks can be bedazzled by a big penis).
The penis comment WAS extraneous. But remember we brought in Mario and Reggie last year - it's just what you do: due diligence (I said doo-doo) when you are in the top ten. I don't this means anything by itself.
It's Quinn who is overhyped. He is a lot like Eli Manning and is not an accurate passer. He is questionable under pressure. Brady Quinn is hyped so much because of Charlie Weis. Whenever people talk about him, they reallt talk about Weis...Weis coached Brady....Weis is running a PRO offense....Weis says that he is the best QB he has coached.....so he must be great. But they never really talk about Quinn much himself. I think he will be a very erratic QB that will never reach the expectations set before him. Russell has a bigger arm, better accuracy, and better pocket presence, not to mention his size which will make it difficult for him to be sacked. Russell wil be the more successfull NFL QB. Quinn is way overhyped. Stick him somewhere away from Weis and he is a borderline first rounder.
This would make no sense for Miami (so I hope they do it). If they stay put, there a chance Russell or Quinn could fall to them. Or, if not, that means of the big DE or DTs will fall to them and they can grab Stanton or some other QB in a later round.
