Well He only pitched 5 innings due to the weather . struck out 6 allowed only 2 hits and walked a few and only had 2 er's . After the game I ran into Phil and he said he did'nt have great command of his change up because of the weather , he also said he was dissapointed that he did'nt last longer , but said the weather played a role . Still impressive along one stretch he retired 8 strait batters striking out 4 of them, before walking one ,who later scored. he also said he is glad to be part of an organization, that will allow him to mature ,before calling him up ,as he said getting experiance at all the minor league levels should help him gain the experiance, and command on his pitches he needs.
Overall Phil seems like a generally greatfull guy who repects his coaches and players as well as the fans . He said he will always make himself available for the fans because if it werent for them he would'nt be playing .

he can be a total beast if he's brought up properly. He really didn't play well in spring training and i dont think the yankees should rush either him or karstons. I guess they might use those guys as an absolute last resort.

some scrub time in the majors might help but to bring them up right away would be assinying . Save them for the later part of the season...

Honestly, I don't think so. Cashman is in charge of the show, and he's dead set on the future, rather than just worrying about this year.

Sure, we're struggling right now, but I'm sure the whole organization is waiting for the cold to pass before any alarms start sounding.

Patience is critical right now. I know every year is another title run, but I'd rather miss the playoffs completely this year than ruin any of our amazing talent down the line.

I see what you're saying, but for this team to even consider it a possibility to miss the playoffs this year with this core of players would be ridiculous. If Phil is needed,he will be brought up. It would be nice if he could be groomed as long as possible, but i don't see it happening. Big Stein isn't pull any punches if they are needed. The core of players here are built for winning now and getting older,so i'm not sure how far into the future Cash can be looking.

The way weve been playing I honestly think we'll see Hughes sooner rather than later.

4 of our SP have got hammered consecutively. We had to come from behind to win the first one. They can say the cold had something to do with it,but it's just as cold when the other team takes the field. Hopefully it all changes in the next round, and sometimes getting the struggles out of the way early is better. The fielding has been the worst i've seen, too.

As Cashman has said, if Hughes continues to dominate, he can't be denied.

He'll be here in the summer if he needs to be here.

If nothing else, we know he won't end up traded for Jesse Barfield. Lets all be thankful for that.
