is it really that difficult to hit a sacrifice fly? because I've never seen a team more inept at it in my life.
Back-to-back HRs for Howard and Ibanez, and then a single for Rollins. It's very simple - Santana has to pitch at least 3 1/3 more innings and not give up any more runs. Sometimes your stud just has to go out and shut a team down.
Unbelievable. Sheffield hits a ball that would be a HR with normal fences, and gets thrown out at second. I really hate the idiotic heights of the fences at Citi Field.
Ruiz saves Manuel from his moronic decision to bunt. Man on third, none out. Think the Mets can score?
This is absolutely impossible. Thanks to Howard's bad throw he was actually safe, but neither Tatis nor Manuel are even arguing it. Fire everyone RIGHT NOW.
Yet another fail with man on 3rd and less than 2 outs. I think that there is no team in the history of baseball that is as bad at that as the Mets have been for the last 2 1/2 years.
Not for his horrible pitching, I don't. Sometimes your ace has to shut a team down. Santana did it last year, but the fact is that 4 of his last 5 starts have been far from ace-like. And I agree that unforgiveable might have been slightly harsh.
This team is legitimately weird. Cora's the guy who comes through? What the hell? By the way, this very situation is why it's batshit crazy to bat Sheffield between Beltran and Wright.
