http://www.profootballweekly.com/2011/04/06/pfws-exclusive-draft-value-chart-4 According to this chart (which is supposedly based on how NFL execs rate the players), Kenric Ellis is viewed as a mid 3rd round pick. Thus, if accurate and the Jets want him, they'll have to trade up to the top or early middle of the 3rd roundd. Other players of note: Mid Rd 1 - Cameron Jordan, JJ Watt, Aldon Smith, Ryan Kerrigan Bottom of Rd 1. Adrian Clayborn, Phil Taylor, Justin Houston, Muhammad Wilkerson, Stephen Paea, Corey Liuget & Da'Quan Bowers Top of Rd 2 Akeem Ayers, Cameron Heyward, Marvin Austin, Christian Ballard Mid Rd 2 - Jabal Sheard, Jurell Casey & Martez Wilson Bottom of Rd 2 - Allen Bailey, Jarvis Jenkins, Bruce Carter, Rahim Moore Top of Rd 3 - Brooks Reed, Sam Acho Mid 3rd Rd - Kenrick Ellis, Chris Carter, Jaiquawn Jarrett Bottom of 3rd Rd - Marcus Gilchrist Top of Rd 4 - Greg Romeus, Dontay Moch, Quinton Carter If this is anywhere near accurate, then it appears the Jets will have to trade down into the middle or bottom of the 2nd round, if they're going to be able to address the pass rush, DL or S in any significant manner, unless they stay put and take Phil Taylor or Stephen Paea at #30. If they could work a trade down with Denver and get their 2 - 2nd round picks, they could possibly come away with two of the following players Heyward, M. Wilson, J. Jenkins, Reed and Sheard. They could trade up into the middle of the 3rd and grab Kenric Ellis, C. Carter or J. Jarrett.
Do they have one of these from last year? Id like to see a comparison of how accurate they are. Interesting stuff though.
The chart was pretty accurate. I mean there were some total misses, but for the most part players were picked in the slot they showed or one slot above or below. I am throwing out players below the 4th round because I think its hard to judge what everyone thinks about a player when you get that late in the draft. ****Check out where they put Kyle Wilson******
Ergh...... They put him as the third lb in the 1C slot, which technically means he should have been drafted between pick 22-32 (closer to 32 since he was ranked third in that slot. He was picked #31 overall so they got that pretty right. This isnt ranking how good they think the players are. It ranks where they think the players will fall based on coaches gradings.
Which is incredibly surprising for PFW. Speaking of draft charts, I'm curious how a rookie scale will affect the top of the old Jimmy Johnson draft trade value chart that teams use.
Here is the link for the year before http://www.profootballweekly.com/2009/04/22/tyson-jackson-aaron-maybin-moving-up While we all thought Jarron Gilbert would go late round 1 early round 2, he went early round three like they predicted. This just goes along with what I have been saying for the past month or so. I dont think Brooks Reed is really a projected first round pick. He has definitely risen considerably based on his Senior Bowl and Combine showings but I think fan opinion has falsey risen his stock to a late first round pick.
They have Leonard Hankerson as a 3a If Leonard Hankerson is available in the 3rd round... that is some kind of fucking steal. IMO in the senior bowl he showed he can play against good cbs in the NFL. It sucks we dont know what is going to happen with our WR situation yet.
duenta williams is graded in the late 6th round...that seems very strange, also bowers is rated as low 1st round and i know his stock is falling but thats far for him i feel, but if this chart is even remotely close, we could end up with some really good players
