Great Read from Pro-Football-Reference who writes an in depth review on each teams draft. A excellent write-up and is well worth a read.

Gave me some confidence in the rookies coming aboard

Love the writeup. He seems to have nailed the thought process behind every pick right on the head.

Not mentioning our D-line seems like a major omission, though. Had we grabbed someone (anyone), this draft is easily an A. As is it, I give it a B or B+.

Ahahaha...I love that they mentioned the Terminator connection. Good write up, especially about McKnight. The only thing left out would be the star recruiting class at RB that came in the year before.

    Nice read. Thanks for posting.

Disagree that Leon will be easier for McKnight to replace than Bush. Maybe in college, not in the pros.

    ...ooooook.

Obviously you didn't watch Reggie Bush when he was at USC.

Huh? You think Leon in the pros is on the level of Bush in the pros...let alone Bush in college!?!

Yes, Leon > Bush in the pros. Check the stats.

    Ok:

Bush: 1940 rushing yards, 1934 receiving yards, 28 offensive TDs, 4 return TDs

Leon: 1782 rushing yards, 969 receiving yards, 15 offensive TDs, 4 return TDs

I did check the stats...last time you tried to debate this.

Reggie Bush has more TDs and more all-purpose yardage.

17 rush TDs + 11 receiving TDs for Bush = 28 offensive TDs

13 rush TDs + 2 receiving TDs for Washington = 15 offensive TDs

    Who's the better player again?

    ...and this.

I would question your statement, but Iggy and Mr. E got to it first....

Before his injury, a lot of people considered Leon a better pro than Bush. It's moot though because Bush meant a lot more to USC than Leon did to us. Obviously, because we just traded him.

I really don't get why most Jets fans won't admit the Bush is the better player.

Is it really all about draft pick number? Because if it is that's fuckin sad.

Bush is better than Leon and its not even close.

this argument is just as bad as where Pennington ranks against other QBs all time... because of fucking completion percentage.

The more I think about it, the more I just keep falling in love with this draft class. Wilson falling to 29 was an absolute blessing, and Ducasse has tons of upside and versatility as an OL. Looking at those highlights of Conner... I would not wanna see that dude in a back alley anywhere late at night, he could end up being our Alstott. Can't help but appreciate the fact that our top 2 picks were both local guys, too, with Wilson growing up in Jersey and Ducasse in CT right near NYC.

Hopefully Warren pans out, one would think losing out on all of that guaranteed money would light a fire under his ass, but we'll see... this guy could be out for blood come training camp, or he could just pull the "poor me" act like so many guys before him. either way though, it was a great signing, a year or two from now he could end up being a better player than Wilson, which is a scary thought.

my only concern is our lack of depth at DE. I know the Ghost is going to get some snaps there, and the coaches are high on Devito, but it would've been nice to pick up a hybrid DE/DT or DE/OLB guy in one of the later rounds. Can't believe that Witten from UConn didn't get drafted after leading the big east in sacks last year, the Steelers got as good of a steal with him as we did with Warren... 2 best UDFA signings IMO.

Simpletons. Obviously Bush has been force fed the football and was more involved in the offense. Let's look a little closer (BTW I've never made this argument before)

    Bush YPC = 3.6, 3.7, 3.8, 5.6
    Washington = 4.3, 5.0, 5.9, 4.6 Easy win for Washington.

    Returns:
Bush (PR) three of four years he avg. less than 8 yds per return. He did have one excellent year with 13.5 and 3TDs

Washington (KR) did not return much his rookie year, 27.5, 25.7, 24.0 4 TDs.

I'll call the returns a wash even though Washington was more consistent.

    Receiving:
    Bush wins here

Two huge factors: Bush has missed 12 games in his career (only once playing 16 games), Leon missed 8 (all last year)
Bush has 14 fumbles! Washington has 6. Don't discount this very important stat.

Yes, it's close but I'll take Washington.

Leon Washington isn't better than Reggie Bush. No matter how hard you try...Bush will always be the better football player - no matter what level of competition.
