Seems pretty low to me. Trying to be unbiased but still. 29th? Get the hell out of here. https://www.pff.com/news/pro-nfl-receiving-corps-rankings-all-32-teams-entering-2019
The question, IMO, is how many teams in front of us would take our best WR over their best WR. Our 2nd best over their 2nd best, etc..........
Fine with me, if I were Gase I would paste the article from such a "reliable" source on the lockeroom board with the caption "How stupid can we make PFF look like this season" "It will not be be that hard"
Who cares. It's all about surrounding Sam Darnold with pass catching options and a group of Robby Anderson, Quincy Enunwa, Jamison Crowder, Chris Herndon (TE) and Le'Veon Bell (RB) if all healthy provide Sam Darnold with multiple pass catching threats. I'm excited about the weapons surrounding our kid QB these ratings won't change that.
Also had the Bills higher wtf! John Brown and Cole Beasley (who they just acquired and probably don’t even have much chemistry with Allen) are not even close to Robby and Q. Also Eagles #1? Alshon is good but not elite and who else Algolor and old man DeSean Jackson? This list so off.
I'd put the Falcons and Bengals at the top followed by the Vikings and Browns. All ahead of Philly. Flame away......
Good I like the low ranking. It helps the Jets fly under the radar. When you are coming off a 4-12 season do you really expect any respect. The Jets are going to have to prove it on the field before they get some media respect. Who really cares what the "experts" think. I am just looking forward to the season starting and want them to get off to a 1-0 start by beating the Bills.
PFF may be underrating the Jets, but in general I'd take their opinion over TGG's. And in this case, our receiving corps is not that good. Outside of Jets fans, our guys other than Bell are no-names.
I like how our WRs complement each other but they haven't proven anything. None of them have 1000 yard nor double digit TD seasons. Hopefully this ranking is used for motivation. However, I would take the Jets top 3 over several others ranked above the Jets. For example, Buffalo, Carolina, NE (inflated #s from Brady/cheating), Giants & Redskins.
For all the attention they get with lazy reporters, PFF has always produced pretty questionably obtained stats and analysis. That said, the Jets receivers aren't well known and are full of question marks at starter and depth. I didn't expect different from a preseason ranking at this point.
IF Enunwa stays healthy, I'm not worried about the WRs. Losing Herndon for 4 games is pretty shitty though
