Peter King Retiring

He's a pig. I mean, he really looks like a pig wearing a curly wig.

 

I see the pig part. But I don't see the curly wig part.

 

He said the Jets were lousy. He must be a pig.

 

I liked Peter King's columns, although I do think he injected his political views too frequently. There aren't too many writers left who give a balanced overview of the League each week. Instead of just spouting off, he actually talked to people and named the people he was quoting. He didn't try to pass off his opinions or speculation as fact.

As for being a Patriots shill, there's no doubt that King is in love with Brady. However,, he wasn't Belichick's biggest fan. In fact, he wrote recently that he and Belichick have been on non-speaking terms since 2007. Belichick felt that King had gone after him too aggressively on Spygate and never forgave him.

King has been rough on the Jets. No question about that, but I'm not sure that he's been wrong. He's just written a lot of things we've all said on his board.

I've read Peter King since he was at Newsday.

Loved his football, not his politics. It was HIS column, he can write whatever he wants. You can always skip over the stuff you don't like, whether politics or Brady or Farve or whatever.

I wish him well.

 

An anonymous source must have given you that tip, because you didn't get it from my post. It is very cute that someone who loves to ask people to prove everything they say on the internet is such a champion of unconfirmed sources in the media.

 

I didn't get a tip - why would you say that? A little thin-skinned, are you? An anonymous source is just that - it's not a lie. And even if proven to be wrong, how does that make someone a pig? Journalists use sources they are not at liberty to disclose- deal with it even if you don't like what they have to say. Sometimes the baby is just plain ugly - ignoring that fact doesn't make it better looking.

Many years ago King may have been a reporter but he's been a columnist for a long time - columnists write their opinions.

 

When I clicked on this thread I saw flaming opportunity and maybe even a full week enjoyment. It had such promised. Then got totally deraled.

I’m crestfallen.
