So Pete says the Jets have no business being a 9 pt favorite over any team in the NFL... Ummm, Pete: Jets 24-7 over Houston Jets 38-0 over Oakland Jets 17-6 over Carolina Jets 26-3 over TB Jets 29-15 over Indy* So 5 of the Jets 8 wins have been by 10 or more.. The funny thing is, in all but the Jets - panthers game Pete picked the Jets to lose.
Based on the rantings of Fatcessa and Peter King I am going to guess Prisco is a 350 pound man. BTW he is correct unless it is KC, Oakland or Tampa.
Vegas odd makers are banking on the Bengals playing backups - they aren't going to make it a 3 point spread and generate massive action on the Jets so they can piss money down the drain
He's not wrong. But it's well documented on what a fucking idiot Prisco is anyway. If you're going to kill him on something, there's plenty of other things he's said in the past... The press is killing this team. I posted what that joke Easterbrook said, Dilfer already laughed them off and everyone here is up in arms about the fat man. Whatever.
Another gem of wisdom from the "no shit" department. No 8-7 has any business being a 9 point favorite over anybody. Right now the Texans are 8-point favorites over the Pats. What did he have to say about that? The lines are skewed in order to get people to bet on games because it's Week 17 and it's up in the air as to who will or won't play. Gonna be a fun week, fellas. The sports media has a serious hate on for the Jets right now because of that gift win we got on Sunday. Time for them to tell us how they really feel.
Let them hate, man. The Jets kept the game close enough with the starters in that they were in a position to win against the backups. And if we win on Sunday they can KEEP hating cus we're in the playoffs. I actually prefer that they keep hating. It's funny watching these peckerheads get all butthurt over the success of the Jets.
Wow, is the National Sports media pissed about the lucky break we caught or what? Man, I thought most of them hated us before this, but after the Indy game, wow. As if it was somehow our own doing. I love that Miami beat us twice this year (for a change) but will not make it and will have to watch us.
you play to the masses. Right now, Colts fans, NFL historian wannabes and fans of all the teams that need us to lose are pissed about the Colts sitting their guys, so they will all take it out on the team that benefited, us. We'll smooth it over with postcards from Cincy next week
I say we take all the negatives and show them we have something to prove. Put it all on the bulletin board in the locker room this week and go out and kick Cincy's ass. Then kick it again in Cincy as we go deep into the playoffs and build on it for next year.
Totally agree. I usually don't care about the woe is us "media bias against the Jets" line, but there's an awful lot of bullshit floating around the airwaves and interwebs today. Also, I'm taking this for my sig. Thanks.
i used to get irritated with this but who care's let em hate it's better that way...it gives us a chance to shut people the hell up
I can see an Oakland 2001 scenario here, where the Jets beat the Bengals to get in, and then get waxed by the same team in the wildcard.
The media hates the Jets for two good reasons: 1. They can't stand the Jets and never could and enjoy taking them down whenever they can in print. (Small minority of the national media but it's definitely there.) 2. They wrote some glowing article about the Jets between 1981 and 2009 and then the bitches turned on them and made them look stupid by blowing an impossibly good opportunity to do whatever it was the writer said they were going to do. (This is like 99.4% of the media at this point because the Jets have blown an amazing number of golden opportunities over the last 3 decades. Like just a silly number. You'd think they'd have gotten it all right just once randomly given what fate has tried to hand them, especially the goddamn time that "I" wrote about them... Bitches.)
